Advantages: A well rounded and delicious cup of tea

Disadvantages: -----------

I love a cup of tea, last week I reviewed the very appalling Sainsbury's Basics tea bags so thought I should redress the balance and tell you all about my favourite cup of tea which is most definitely Tetley.

Tetley are a round tea bag, which is still a nice novelty for me after using traditional square bags for my first 50 years although I doubt if altering the shape makes a lot of difference really!

I make my tea mainly in a teapot, sometimes it's an individual teapot in which I use two bags but if using my larger teapot I'll stick to the old rule of one bag per cup with an extra one 'for the pot'. I allow my tea to brew for around four minutes when using Tetley tea bags as I like my tea strong, but this will give an extremely flavoursome cup of tea so if you prefer a weaker brew then you'll get an perfectly adequate tea which you'll find easy to adjust to your own tastes.

Some cheaper tea you have to brew for an awfully long time and even then the drink tastes thin and flavourless, with Tetley you'll get a rounded cup of tea however short a time you brew it for. I like the full bodied flavour of Tetley, in fact when we lived in Africa my daughter was fourteen and would make trips home to the UK to visit her Nanna and she always knew to leave room in her suitcase for a couple of months supply of Tetley tea bags!

I add a little milk to my tea, my daughter drinks her tea black and finds Tetley to have the smoothest flavour of the big commercial brands although she does prefer Twinings for her more unusual teas.

You can usually find Tetley Tea Bags in flashed packets and are surprisingly reasonably priced, they're one of those items which are actually cheaper to buy in smaller corner shops than in the supermarkets as these shops will usually stock the specially flashed packets which are usually 99p for 40 bags.

Summary: Well, I am going to put the kettle on now - one lump or two?
