Advantages: Industry Standard by which all others are measured?

Disadvantages: There are cheaper tea bags out there with similar flavours.

I remember the when the Tetley's round teabags were first released in the UK and the TV advert that went along with them and even then theme song that went along with that. "Get a round Tetley tea bag in your cup, Get a round Tetley tea bag you'll like it a lot. Get a round" at least that is how I remember the lyrics.

The round tea bag was supposed to allow the leaves to move around in the bag more easily and disperse their flavour into the water more evenly. This boast then used again in the advertisements following the release of the pyramid bag. I am not really sure how much difference it made and the industry seems to have settled on the round back as the best.

The Taste.

Tetley tea bags I would describe as producing the industry standard of "English Breakfast" teas but would argue that their isn't two much difference in the taste you get from and them and the other popular brands (PG tips, Red Label. etc) or even the supermarket own brands. The flavour comes from Tetleys own blend of Assam, African and Ceylon leaves.

Price

Tetley tea bags usually take their position in the medium priced category for tea bags. Probably leaning toward the more expensive side only you can decide whether they are worth it.

Summary

Tetley can make a lovely cup of tea but I feel it is the tea maker who ultimately takes charge of whether you get a good cup or not.
