Advantages: easy to find
Disadvantages: not everyones taste
Theakstons Bitter comes from the small North Yorkshire town of Masham and they have a great visitors centre if your in the area and fancy calling in. They have a bar inside so you can sample all their ales including OLD PECULIER. Plus you can buy all things like glasses and t-shirts.
Theakstons Old P as me and my friends call it is a dark beer. Its one of those beers that a lot of people who are not big real ale drinkers would shy away from thinking it so strong it will knock me out.
Well yes it is stronger ale but its one that you have to try. Ok some people won't like its strong taste and for those there are plenty of other Theakstons there would like.
This is one of those ales that if you like and walk into a pub thinking you want another ale and then you see out of the corner of you eye they have OLD P you soon make up your mind that you will be drinking it for the rest of the evening.
This is another of one of those beers that is better on tap than from the bottle but don't let that put you off because it's still a great drink. In my opinion it's not really a summer afternoon drink it's more of evening ale.
If you look around in supermarkets then sometimes you can pick up some good deals on real ale sometimes so I hope you are able to find it a little cheaper.
Summary: classic british ale
