Advantages: great taste, quality ingredients,
Disadvantages: added sugar
This Water is my latest passion - a healthy drink made from spring water and crushed fruit. The downside is that the manufacturers added sugar - don't ask me why, they should be sweet enough without.
Well, with 35 to 40 calories per 100ml they are still very healthy and a great alternative to fruit juices and smoothies.
This Water comes in 420ml plastic bottles and one normally costs 1.10 pound. You can chose between 5 different flavours but so far I've only found 3 in my supermarket.
This Water actually comes from the Innocent Smoothie company but is produced now under a new company and label. You can expect the same quality ingredients and delicious taste as you are used from the smoothies.
*****
This Water comes in 5 different flavours but so far I only tried 3 of them. The mango one is definitely my favourite but the peaches one sounds delicious; unfortunately I haven't seen it in a shop so far.
* Mangoes & Passion Fruit
This is definitely my favourite, sweet and refreshing at the same time it's a great drink for the summer. You can clearly taste the mango & passion fruit mix and the hint of lime gives it this lightly sour taste. This seems to be the only This Water that you really have to shake before drinking if not you'll have all the fruit mix on the bottom.
It's a surprisingly high amount of fruit, especially 1/2 mango is a lot more than I expected.
* spring water
* 1/2 crushed mango
* 1/2 crushed passion fruit
* sugar
* a squeeze of lime
*****
* Cranberries & Raspberries
This one is also quite nice and I'll buy it from time to time although I'm not a huge fan o cranberries. I'd prefer a raspberry & strawberry mix as the cranberry taste is a bit dry/bitter.
It's a good alternative if you don't like the sweet taste of the mango and of course great if you like berry flavours.
An extra tip, mix the water with two handful of fresh or frozen raspberries and blend it for a great delicious smoothie!
* spring water
* 58 crushed cranberries
* 9 crushed raspberries
* sugar
* a squeeze of lemon
*****
* Lemon & Lime
Well, this wasn't really my taste. If I'm drinking lemon water I don't want any sugar in it. It was just too sweet but than again not sweet enough; it's just somewhere in the middle between sour and sweet without having much taste.
* spring water
* 1 freshly squeezed lemon
* 1 freshly squeezed lime
* sugar
*****
* Pomegranate & Blackcurrant
* spring water
* half a pomegranate
* 17 blackcurrants
* 1/3 apple
* sugar
* a dash of lemon juice
*****
* Passion Fruit & Peaches
Ah, it sounds lovely and I hope that I'll soon find it in a shop!
* spring water
* crushed peaches
* crushed purple passion fruits
* carrot juice
* sugar
* a squeeze of lime
*****
So, now to the most important question - would I buy it again! Yes, definitely! I really like This Water but wouldn't drink it every day. Firstly it's high season for berries and I just love home-made smoothies and secondly because it just contains too much sugar for an every day use. You don't have to agree with that but I'm a water drinker and not really used to sugary drinks.
This Water is a nice alternative to fruit juices and smoothies; they contain lots of fruit and although they contain added sugar are very healthy and most importantly - they are delicious!

- 28/06/09 I've tried the lemon one and like you I wasn't that keen. It put me off trying the others a bit. |
