Tia Maria is a Jamaican liqueur made from vanilla, coffee and cane spirit, and has an unforgettable taste.

I particularly enjoy it with a drop of coke, but only a drop mind you, and if I’m really in the mood for a strong tipple I make a Black Russian by adding vodka.
Last Christmas I tried it using cream instead of the coke but I don’t think that I will go for that one again. I felt so ill the next day, mind you I think you are only supposed to have one or two at the most and I woke up to find the Tia Maria and Vodka bottles near on empty and we had no cream for the boxing day trifle.

If you are feeling a wee bit under the weather with flu etc then a drop of Tia Maria in a coffee goes down a treat before bedtime. It is soothing to the throat and if you have a really good measure you sweat the cold out in your sleep, far better than a hot lemon drink with paracetamol.

It is not a cheap liqueur at £14.50 a bottle but if you are the type of person that likes quality and enjoys going first class then you should treat yourself to this rich tipple, but remember don’t have too many with vodka and cream or you will be extremely fragile the next morning.
