Advantages: Tasty Romanian beer

Disadvantages: Dodgy South Africans up to tricks!

Timisoreana is a Romanian beer from Timisoara, bought by Sab Miller and any beer lover from Romania will tell you that it's not what it used to be and no longer tastes original, the word is that it's just Ursus beer re-packaged in a Timisoreana label which has the effect of keeping the locals happy and gives people the satisfaction of "trying something different", a desire which may lead people to try other companies beer.

Fortunately for me I love Ursus and it does taste pretty similar if not identical (it's hard to say it differs now I'm "in the know"!), the beer comes with a stylish blue cap, a blue and yellow elbelm which has a large T on the front. Interestingly it does have different ingredients and a slightly lower alcohol percentage (5.0%) than Ursus, though I've been told to ignore that!

The beer pours a nice golden colour with a medium head and has that distinctively enjoyable mixture of bitter and sweet that so many Romanian beers do which ensure that for a country with a short beer producing tradition they match other countries well.

I'm still not totally convinced that it's re-bottled Ursus and I'd rather have a bottle of Silva or Ursus Premium over this but it's definitely a decent brew and a bit cheaper than the aforementioned pair.

Summary: Figure it out for yourself!
