Advantages: fresh, fruit, not too sour taste

Disadvantages: you pay for the quality

When I was a kid I used to love sour sweets, but as I've grown up I've become less and less a fan of that acidic sour taste that makes your lips screw up! So I kind of fell out of love with grapefruit juice and didn't buy it for years. The other day my girlfriend picked some of this up and so I wasn't too optimistic when I tried it.

But I was wrong to be prejudiced. It's a really refreshing exceptional drink. The difference between this pure-pressed stuff and the concentrate-derived stuff I was used to drinking was remarkable. It's a much bigger difference than even for orange juice, because the taste is much more balanced and less aggressively sharp. It carries a little natural sweetness too to help carry the flavours and the taste of the fruit comes across in a relatively unadulterated fashion.

One other thing I noticed was that it mixed well with tonic water, which makes it slightly sparkling and very refreshing. I've found that concentrated juices tend not to mix so well, so this was a great surprise and it's since become my favourite bbq soft drink.

Like the other tropicana products the box is well designed and sturdy, making pouring very easy.

Summary: Grapefruit juice as it should be
