Advantages: good taste, pure juice

Disadvantages: pricey

Advertised as America's favourite juice, Tropicana is one of the leading brands on orange juice in both the USA and the UK. Made purely from oranges, and never from concentrate, you can be sure that what you are drinking is pure goodness, and not some watered down version.

The tropicana range consists of smooth orange juice, as well as one with pulp (or bits), and there are also some varieties of tropical juice. The sizes available vary, from individual 250ml bottles, upto 2 litres, so there is a size for any occassion. Often the larger bottles, a litre or 2 litres, are on offer in supermarkets, at around £2 for 2 litres, although retail price is closer to £3.80. The individual bottles are often just over £1 to buy, and are available in supermarkets, as well as places like McDonalds.

The taste of Tropicana is very fresh, you can tell when drinking that the juice is really from oranges, and not some orange flavoured product. It is rather rich however, and I struggle to drink a whole glass without feeling a bit sick, however this is purely my personal opinion.

The packaging is easily recognisable with the name in large green letters, and oranges on the front, it often stands out on a shelf. You can also be sure that the taste will be identical time after time, which is nice if you like to know what to expect.

Overall Tropicana is a good juice, although the price puts me off of buying it regularly. At full price it is around 3 times more expensive per litre than supermarket brands, and personally I feel that while the taste is better, it's not 3 times better.

Summary: a good product, although expensive
