Advantages: Very good for you

Disadvantages: Hard to find in the shops

I have been drinking green tea for years as an aid to weight loss. I have tried all types, Gunpowder Green tea, Pure Green tea and Green tea with various fruit flavours. When my daughter started drinking Earl Grey green tea, I thought I would try it.

When you brew it, you get a pale golden liquid in your tea cup. Earl Grey Green Tea has the characteristic flavour of Bergamot, but is perhaps more delicate than the black variety. The instructions tell you to leave the tea bag in the cup for about three minutes. This is far too long in my opinion producing a rather bitter cup of tea. One and a half minutes seems about right for a refreshing drink that can be taken as it comes or sweetened with a little honey. It is supposed to be full of antioxidants that are very good for you. I can't argue with that.

I can't say that this is my favourite Green Tea, but it is palatable. The only down side is that it has become more and more difficult to get hold of it in the supermarket at a reasonable price.

We used to get it at Tesco's in Dudley for £1.25 for a box of 25 tea bags, but they don't stock it any more. We can occasionally get it from a well known health food shop whose only branch is in the shopping centre at Wolverhampton. How does the Earl Grey green tea drinking population in the rest of the country manage?

Summary: Buy lots of Earl Grey green tea, it's going out of fashion.

Yes the taste! I thought I was a tea connoisseur but I've not heard of this one so I need to know!

That was all good to know but you didn't actually describe the taste?
