I've long been a lover of British teas. Whenever I come back home from that "small island," it's a sure bet my luggage will contain a restock on my standard favorites that are either hard to find or unavailable here in the States. There is, however, one brand among my favorites for which this is not a problem--Twinings. Twinings is easy to find on the shelves of our American supermarkets. You would imagine that after 300 years in the business that twining might just know a little something about tea, and you would be imagining correctly for they do indeed have a mountain of knowledge to fall back on. English breakfast is a tea I have on almost a daily basis being that it is the selected brand of tea on offer at the canteen where I work. I do like a good cuppa and I like it really strong so I do tend to leave the tea bag in the cup until every last drop of that brown colour has been squeezed out. Twinings English Breakfast Tea is the perfect choice for a morning cuppa. I stopped drinking coffee and have since become a tea addict. This is a strong tea from Ceylon and India. It is full-bodied and full of flavour and can be drunk with milk or lemon, although it is best with milk. A pot of this tea takes from 3 to 5 minutes to brew. I find that a full 5 minutes gives a strong but not bitter cup of tea. The smell is strong and pure and there is no scenty aroma as there is with many other teas like Earl Grey, for example.
