Advantages: Nice smell, no caffeine
Disadvantages: Flavour slightly bland
Yesterday I wrote a review on the very pleasant 'Twinings Cranberry, Raspberry & Elderflower Tea', and the experience has inspired me to perform yet another tea-based write-up. Today it's the turn of 'Fresh & Fruity Blueberry & Apple', which is again a Twinings product.
Described as "a distinctive, full-bodied blend with a little taste of autumn", I was hoping this one would be as good as yesterdays offering.
Price and Availability

You can purchase Twinings Blueberry and Apple Tea from all the main supermarkets, a variety of health food shops, and some newsagents. In terms of the price, the twenty tea-bag box retails at 95p.
Ingredients

This particular tea is completely caffeine free, and consists of;
Hibiscus, Natural Apple Flavouring (10%), Natural Blueberry Flavouring (10%), Rosehips, Apple Pieces, and Liquorice Root.
Aroma and Taste

The text on the packet informed me to brew the tea for two to three minutes in freshly boiled water, which resulted in a very deep, red wine coloured drink. The smell was quite pungent, but in a good way, reminding me of Tesco's delicious Blueberry Muffins, which I used to be addicted to (but that's another story).
I found the flavour to be not as strong as the Cranberry, Raspberry & Elderflower, although the overall taste was still pleasant. Even though the aroma was predominantly blueberry, the taste seemed to be more appley - which presents itself as a slightly sour but subtle flavour.
Would I buy it again?

Although pleasant, Twinings Blueberry & Apple isn't really my cup-of-tea (pardon the pun). The drink is refreshing and fruity, but I preferred the taste of the Cranberry, Raspberry & Elderflower version, which seemed to have a fuller flavour. That said, I would still recommend this particular drink as a healthy and caffeine free alternative to normal tea and coffee.
Summary: Healthy tea, not for me.
