Advantages: Healthy alternative to morning cup of coffee, great flavour, doesn't go bitter

Disadvantages: Not as cheap as other green teas but definitely worth it

I have been drinking green tea for around four years now - moving to England from the US, the daily ceremony of tea is inevitable, but I've got a very low tolerance for caffeine, and I found the standard black tea to have too much stimulant, leaving me jittery. I'd known green tea was a digestive aid and a good source of antioxidants, and it had just enough of a kick to get me started in the morning, so I started to drink it. Since becoming a devoted green tea drinker, I've tried the lot of them - organic teas, free trade teas, discount teas, loose leaf teas, etc.! After this lengthy period of trial and error, I now know to reach for only one kind of tea at Tescos - Twinings flavoured green tea.

The biggest pull for me is the flavour - green tea is nice, but Twinings have really managed to maintain the fundamental flavours of the leaves whilst adding another dimension of cranberry taste. I've tried other flavoured teas and often found the fruit-taste to be artificial or overly sweet. I don't know how Twinings have done it, but this is genuinely the best flavoured tea I've ever had!

Another thing which, for me, is key, regardless of how long you leave the tea bag in, the tea doesn't go bitter! Any regular drinker of green tea can attest to how leaving your tea to stew for any longer than 1-2 minutes can result in the entire cup or pot being ruined with an unpleasant, bitter taste. I don't know if it's down to how Twinings have roasted the leaves, or perhaps the fruit is able to mask the bitter taste, but I know that I have finished cups with the tea bags still in and never experienced that horrible taste. This is a big plus for me, as often times I'll carry my mug around with me as soon as I pour a cup - no more hovering around the trash can as I try to perfectly time taking the bag out! Also, I can throw it into a Thermos and carry it around for the rest of the day without growing anxious about the taste - it'll always be as good as freshly brewed!

I love this tea and highly recommend it to anyone who's a fan of green tea!

Summary: The only green tea for me!

Don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can never get Twinings to taste of anything except hot water and a vague taste of something horrible!
