An important aspect of green tea is the way that the leaves are processed. Green tea is the least processed of all teas and thus provides a natural source of antioxidants, the chemical compounds that inhibit oxidation. Green tea is particularly rich in health-promoting flavonoids, including catechins. Some of these are thought to play an important role in the green tea's anticancer and antioxidant effects. Green tea is made by briefly steaming the just harvested leaves, rendering them soft and pliable and preventing them from fermenting or changing colour. After steaming, the leaves are rolled, then spread out and "fired" (dried with hot air or ... Read the complete review

I make sure I drink at least one cup of green tea a day. I have tried and tested many different brands and concoctions. Some have been favorable and others absolutely awful. If you are new to this green tea lark, then on its own it can have a very strong taste and an pungent smell. So why drink something that can taste so dreadful? Well green tea is claimed to be a fantastic antioxidant, "which can help protect the body from damage caused by free radicals". It also boosts your metabolism which speeds up digestion. Determined not to be deterred from green tea following my trying the Twinings Green Tea (as it comes) product, I gave this one a go, hoping the addition of the lemon flavour woud make amends. I was keen to try this as my wife likes drinking green tea for its remedial properties. Green tea is rumoured to be highly remedial, with scientists claiming all manner of benefits, including a better immune system, healthier digestive system, reduction of plaque in the mouth, and aiding blood pressure to retain normality. It's also a healthier option than constantly drinking caffeinated drinks all day long as I am known to do from time to time. Twinings are a ... Read the complete review

Tea has been drunk for over 4000 years, so there must be something in it. Whether it has all the healing and repairing properties the ancient peoples believed can be debatable, but none-the-less, we do seem to like a good cuppa. Up until recently I had always stuck to the familiar black teas, Twinings, Lipton, and even Tetley at times. I have experimented with flavoured teas, Blackcurrant, Forest Fruits and the like for a change, and now I've also discovered Green Tea. THE SCIENCE ************ You can skip this bit if you already know all about the benefits of Green Tea, otherwise, read on, you could learn something. Green Tea is still a fairly new ... I really do like a cup of tea and drink quite a lot and as I take milk in my tea it means I drink quite a lot of milk too which I'm not too happy about. I have tried herbal tea's as a change but really did'nt like any as I found the flavours a bit overwhelming so I tended to avoid them................ until I read on one of my favourite websites www.whfoods.com ( Worlds Healthiest Foods ) about Green Tea. All the information you need on Green Tea ( and any other food ) can be found on this website and is really worth a look! Apparently Green tea is a favourite in China and has been around for hundreds of years and has a wealth of health ... Read the complete review
