Advantages: Tastes very nice
Disadvantages: No sign of the grapefruit
I've been working my way through the green teas that are on offer in my local Sainsburys and thought I'd give these a try when I saw that they were on offer.
These normally cost £1.29 for 20 bags but I got mine for just 98p. They are part of the twinnings range and if you don't like the sound of this flavour then there are loads of other flavours to try.
I love Pineapple and I am quite partial to a grapefruit every now and again too so was expecting these to be right up my street.
When I opened the box I got a strong whiff of what you would expect to smell from a normal tea bag but there was a hint of 'zing'. I couldn't work out specifically what the 'zing' was but it was pleasant over all.
The tea bag brewed very easily and turned the water a nice greeny, brown colour. It didn't take long before I was satisfied enough to remove the tea bag and drink the mixture.
When I got my nose close to the brew it became clear that the pineapple had the most overpowering smell of the two fruits. When I took a sip the whole thing was pleasant enough but I couldn't taste the grapefruit at all. I took a few more sips but this didn't help. Putting aside this fact I really enjoyed the brew and when I finished the last little bit I felt both hydrated and almost as if I had, had a sweet treat which was a little strange.
To anyone who likes green tea, I would say to try this even if you aren't keen on the fruits because they definitely aren't overbearing and don't take away from the pleasant taste of the green tea.
Summary: A nice refreshing drink
