I'm an avid tea-drinker, but I've become fussier over time. Sometimes I get tired of normal brews like PG Tips or Tetley and fancy something a bit more refined. I had been familiar with Earl Grey tea for quite some years (black tea flavoured with the oil of the bergamot orange), but my friend told me she found the bergamot oil flavouring rather 'heavy' and noticeably oily and much preferred Lady Grey tea. I found Twinings Lady Grey teabags in my local Sainsburys priced at £1.95 for a box of 50 teabags. However, prices of food items vary between shops, and I have seen Lady Grey being sold in all major supermarkets and even in some corner shops. Loose tea is ... Read the complete review

I am one of those people who has a set of tea rituals. These are as much a part of the drinking process for me as pulling the cork is a part of drinking wine - a kind of humble, food-related superstition involving pot-warming and fussing over water temperatures. It's ridiculous, fussy and stupid, I know, but to me the drink just doesn't feel 'right' without them. One of my obsessions is drinking different types of tea at different times of day. I love assam-based black teas for a caffeine kick in the morning, more delicate teas after lunch, and green teas after a meal. Lady Grey falls into my afternoon bracket: it's the kind of flavour I actively dislike ... Read the complete review

Twinings are famous for producing a diverse collection of speciality teas with richly scented aromas designed to suite the mood your in or the time of day. I have enjoyed drinking many of their offerings including the smoky flavoured Lapsang Souchong and the spicy Chai. If forced to choose however, the bergamot infused Earl Grey would probably be my favourite. So it with some confidence, after reading a quite positive review on Dooyoo, that I decided to give the Lady a try, especially as it was purported to possess similar qualities to the Earl. Both Grey's are black teas originating from China and have the appearance when brewed of a light tea, pale gold in colour. Lady ... Read the complete review

I can't honestly remember the last time I had a cup of 'ordinary' tea, but I think we're talking years here. It was entierly due to the bloke I married (although we weren't married then.) He has a taste for unusual and exotic teas and it wasn't long before I succumbed. I can't claim that Lady Grey is my favourite tea, but it is certainly one that I like and keep coming back to. Lady Grey - this is a light tea without much caffeine in it, which is good if you are worrying about your blood pressure, or trying to cut back or keep your caffeine intake minimal. In common with Earl Grey tea, it has bergamot oil in it - not a vast amount in ... Read the complete review

I love tea. As my friends and family will tell you, I can easily manage ten or twenty cups a day. It has been known for me to chain-drink seven cups of the stuff in one go. I reach for a cuppa in the same way as a smoker lunges for a cigarette. If I’m stressed, fed-up or tired, tea picks me up and perks me up. I only become human after my first cuppa of the day and I go to sleep a few minutes after finishing my last tea of the evening. Last week, I stayed at my Mum’s house along with the rest of my tribe. She was generally in a bad mood - being as we were over for my Dad’s wedding – but at one point, she did kindly give me a bag full of ... Read the complete review
