... releasing a warm ginger smell when you open the box. After adding hot water it's advisable to give the tea a good 10 minutes to steep before drinking as the flavour takes a while to infuse. The result is a fairly strong flavoured tea, with a very firey, peppery ginger taste. The flavour is overwhelmingly ginger with only a background hint of lemon - not unpleasant by any means, but may not be to everyone's taste if you prefer the two flavours to be a bit more balanced. Premium Review Twinings Lemon and Ginger: Lemon and Ginger, try Ginger but where's the Lemon (519 words)
by - written on 19/03/08 (Very useful, 72 readings)

Being health concious and trying to reduce the caffine intake thought I would try one of the many flavoured teas that are currently on the market, however, with hindsight I should have picked a different one. ---The packaging--- The one I bought is different to the one shown although the same shape box. Very yellow in colour with a gold band at the top (similar to the one above) with the word Twinings only and not curved. The picture on the box is of a white square place with three ginger roots and a lemon wedge sitting on the plate. Turning the box around on the side there is a part for benifits of drinking this tea saying that ginger has ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Refreshing and warming (732 words)

Would you like a drink with a bit of flavour that warms you through as you as you drink it and aids digestion at the same time? I do enjoy a change now and again from traditional tea and coffee and because there are a wide range of herbal infusions available in supermarkets I find it fun to try out different flavours. Twinings have been making teas for over 300 years and not only do they sell traditional and speciality teas they have a very wide range of herbal and fruit infusions within their range. Twinings Lemon and Ginger is one of their "Wellbeing Blends Infusions" ('Infusion' being a more accurate term than tea as strictly speaking these ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Twinings Lemon and Ginger: Twining's Best (168 words)
by - written on 01/07/09 (Very useful, 10 readings)

I have recently been trying all the kinds of fruit and herbal tea that I can find in order to find one which is my favourite. Twining's flavours rarely disappoint, and this is my favourite so far. It's a powerful flavour, which I like, it is both piquant and refreshing thanks to the strong ginger element. It is also lemony without being too sour or sharp. Although it is a delicious, warming and comforting drink when hot, this tea can also be enjoyed cold by preparing it in advance and chilling. Not all of Twining's teas are at their best served this way, but it works well with this one, especially on a hot Summer's day! With a little added honey, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Soothing Ginger (447 words)
by - written on 25/06/09 (Very useful, 33 readings)

I recently bought a box of these teabags for use at work in an attempt to cut down my caffeine intake, someone had also told me that ginger is a good antidote to an unsettled stomach and aids digestion so as I have been recovering from a nasty bout of nausea (nasty virus picked up at work) I figured these were a good bet. I paid £1 for a box of 25 bags which were on special offer in Asda, I believe they usually retail for around £1.30 and I was impressed enough with them that I would buy them again even at the normal full price. You can immediately detect the smell of ginger on opening the box of teabags. Each is individually wrapped to ensure ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Twinings Lemon and Ginger: Lovely strong flavoured tea (325 words)
by - written on 18/06/09 (Very useful, 12 readings)
Rating:

I love strong flavours and this tea is perfect for this. It has a very strong taste of ginger and I now drink it at work instead of my previous bucket of black coffee three times a day. I started buying this when I was getting a bit of nausea in the mornings. Turns out I wasn't pregnant - just not a huge fan of mornings and it takes my body some time some days to adjust to being out of bed if I've had a late night the night before. I also occasionally suffer from IBS and in both cases this tea has settled my stomach and the nausea within an hour. The black coffee probably wasn't helping either! I tend to leave the teabag in when I make this and ...  Read the complete review
