Advantages: All natural ingredients, strong flavour and aroma

Disadvantages: Very little lemon taste

I bought this tea to substitute some of the many cups of coffee I drink throughout the day. The tea is part of Twining's 'revise and revitalise' range, containing only natural ingredients selected to invigorate and aid digestion. It is of course caffeine free and contains no added sugar so is a very healthy alternative to standard tea and coffee.

The teabags themselves have a very pleasant aroma, instantly releasing a warm ginger smell when you open the box. After adding hot water it's advisable to give the tea a good 10 minutes to steep before drinking as the flavour takes a while to infuse. The result is a fairly strong flavoured tea, with a very firey, peppery ginger taste. The flavour is overwhelmingly ginger with only a background hint of lemon - not unpleasant by any means, but may not be to everyone's taste if you prefer the two flavours to be a bit more balanced. The ingredients list ginger root first (36.5%) along with natural ginger flavouring (3.5%) so it's not surprising the tea offers such a gingery punch.

It's best to drink this tea fairly quickly - after a while the bag becomes quite slimey in texture and the inside ingredients turn into an unappealing sludge. But the colour and texture do at least suggest that the ingredients are perfectly natural, and no colours have been added.

Overall this is a really nice tea if you are a fan of ginger, but don't expect too much of a lemon hit.
