Like millions of other people, I suspect, I've been trying to cut down on my weekly shopping bills but one thing I won't settle for is cheapo tea - I've tried a few brands but always go back to Tetley's or similar for the taste & quality. I used to treat myself to Earl Grey once in a while but thought it a little extravagant so I really pleased when hubby came home with a box yesterday - to me this was better than a bunch of flowers & will last longer than a box of chocs! I sneaked a look at the receipt ( for Dooyoo purposes) & saw that the box of 100 cost £3.60 & in my opinion, worth every penny. The box is very classy ... Read the complete review

Earl Grey tea has been drunk in my family for centuries and I was delighted recently to discover an organic blend of one of my most favourite teas. Originally from China, this is a light tea, pale gold in colour with the delicate flavour of bergamot. According to legend Earl Grey is named after Charles, the 2nd Earl Grey, who obtained a special blend of tea from a Chinese Mandarin with a long beard. When the tea supply ran out the Earl asked Richard Twining to recreate the tea for him. British Prime Minister Earl Grey believed that adding Oil of Bergamot ensured a memorably refreshing cup of tea. And so the blend became known as "Earl Grey's" tea. ... Read the complete review

Although I am first and foremost a coffee drinker, being surrounded by a team of tea drinking collagues at work has forced my hand a little recently - it's easier to keep oneself perpetually topped up with tea than it is coffee; the effects are less hyperactive! Twinings Earl Grey has become one of my favourite teas for something a little different from the "norm" - the tea is flavoured with bergamot, which gives it a very distinctive and aromatic taste. It also takes off some of the "edge" of the drink and imparts more of a relaxing and slow flavour to it which really makes it feel like a treat. Although the flavour is ... Read the complete review

As much as i love a good cup of strong Tetleys tea its always a toughy between Twinings Earl grey and the Tetleys. More often than not the Earl grey always comes out on top. I take make Earl Grey with a little milk and one sugar (i believe it to taste lovely without the milk and keep meaning to try it like this). The fragrance of the tea is quite exquisite if not a little lemony; i take it thats the Bergamont, this is the same for the flavour a light, lemony like tea. The colour with milk is a slightly grey, i take it thats where it gets its name from. My only qualm with this tea is that it takes quite a few minutes to brew a nice tea (but my ...
