I have been at home ill after a major operation recently and I have been told to keep my liquid intake up. I find water pretty boring and in this cold weather it is nice to have a warm drink. My lovely husband went out and bought a shopping bag fill of different fruit teas. I am going to review them here, as I have had quite a few cups of each sort. Twinings Pear & Guava is described as "a tempting, tropical treat, balancing the unusual yet delicious flavours of exotic guava and juicy pears". It is one of Twinings soft Fruit blends. I was attracted to this tea because of its guava flavour. Guava was one of my favourite fruits when living in Brazil. However, the taste of this tea evokes very little recollection of any intimate guava moments of the past. The principle ingredients consist of hibiscus, rosehips, pear flavouring, guava flavouring, pear pieces and guava pieces (1% each). NAME OF DRINK: Twinings Pear and Guava herb tea, which I got my first taste of at an exclusive country club, Marriott Breadsall Priory Hotel, on 22 October 2004, when I attended a conference as part of work. BACKGROUND: At the above location, I was able to have tea, coffee, hot chocolate or a selection of herb teas as part of the package. I did not have to pay for the drinks as they were all included. COLOUR: This comes in an orange packet and the water goes red when the water is added, going to a deep purple depending on the length of time the tea bag is immersed.
