Twinings Pure Green Tea

Description: Twinings Pure Green Tea: A pure China green tea for those those wanting a classic unflavoured drink.

Newest Review: ... an almost inedible flavour as you drink more as it gets horribly bitter. So good work Twinings on eradicating this ... more

... problem. The flavour is as you would expect from a good green tea, with a sense of earthiness and a tinge of bitterness which is not unpleasant. It is recommended that you do not drink this with milk but I have found that it can be quite nice sweetened with a little honey. It is not to everyone's taste, and if you are a solid builders tea type, I doubt it will convert you but I really enjoy it. It may be slightly psychological but I feel that it has a nice light cleansing feel to it, and is a perfect hot drink antidot...more

Premium Review Twinings Pure Green Tea: A Brutally Bitter Brew (552 words)

According to Chinese legend, tea was discovered in 2737 BC by the Emperor Shen-nung when tea leaves from a nearby bush accidentally fell into an open kettle of boiling water. Before Shen Nung could retrieve the leaves, they began to brew. He smelled the sweet aroma of the mixture and found the resulting drink had a delicious flavour. If you believe that you'll believe anything. There is another lesser known legend about the discovery of green tea. There was an old Chinaman called Mr Chenshungchaishi who couldn't afford to buy proper tea from the market so through sheer desperation he went out into his threadbare garden to see what he could find. He ...  Read the complete review

Twinings is a company founded in 1706. They make and export over 200 teas these days. The first tea they imported in 1706 was Green Tea. The tea Green Tea is full of antioxidants which are designed to be very good for you. A recent study has suggested that brown tea (what we accept as regular tea) is actually just as good for you if not better, but the elemnts in green tea work in different ways. Twinings describe their Green Tea as a light and fresh tasting tea, which, to be honest, I can't see. All I can say is that, I am glad it is a herbal remedy as I cannot describe the flavour as anything close to light and fresh. It is a very ...  Read the complete review

Twinings Green Tea is available from most high street supermarkets for approximately £1.29 per 20 bags, although I have often seen it on special offer.. The product itself is packaged well. In comes in a dark green rectangular cardboard box. On the box there is a lot of the normal information including some blurb about how it is prepared and some information about its Chinese History. To access the box involves tearing an easily accessible tag which tears nicely around the box which still keeps the box itself quite shut and secure, The shape of the box means it stores nicely. The box itself is also recyclable, it is worth mentioning. It professes to contain only ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Not everyone's cup of tea (760 words)

First off I would like to say that I do not enjoy tea. I am firmly in the coffee camp. On the odd occasion that I do drink tea it is either because my dad made me a cup and I don't have the heart to tell him I'm not that keen, I'm having afternoon tea complete with cakes and finger sandwiches or coffee is just not an option. In the past year I have probably consumes at most 5 cups of tea. So why did I buy green tea? Well I had a stinker of a cold and I am not a fan of taking medicine in general and only take it when absoloutely necessary. I went online and looked at what I could do to get rid of this and it seemed green tea came up quite often. It seems that actually ...  Read the complete review

I am a health food fanatic. My health is important to me and so is my body so I am very careful about what I put into it. You only get one body I don't see the point in messing it up at every opportunity. My body takes me all through my life so I owe it the responsibility of looking after it. I drink a lot of green and white tea as they are two of the healthiest drinks available to us. I do however have trouble finding a brand I am completely happy with. I prefer to get my tea from health food shops but this can be a bit of a problem, not because I'm too lazy to walk two miles to the shop but sometimes by the time my day is finished the particular shops I'm referring to ...  Read the complete review
