According to Chinese legend, tea was discovered in 2737 BC by the Emperor Shen-nung when tea leaves from a nearby bush accidentally fell into an open kettle of boiling water. Before Shen Nung could retrieve the leaves, they began to brew. He smelled the sweet aroma of the mixture and found the resulting drink had a delicious flavour. If you believe that you'll believe anything. There is another lesser known legend about the discovery of green tea. There was an old Chinaman called Mr Chenshungchaishi who couldn't afford to buy proper tea from the market so through sheer desperation he went out into his threadbare garden to see what he could find. Twinings is a company founded in 1706. They make and export over 200 teas these days. The first tea they imported in 1706 was Green Tea. The tea Green Tea is full of antioxidants which are designed to be very good for you. A recent study has suggested that brown tea (what we accept as regular tea) is actually just as good for you if not better, but the elemnts in green tea work in different ways. Twinings describe their Green Tea as a light and fresh tasting tea, which, to be honest, I can't see. All I can say is that, I am glad it is a herbal remedy as I cannot describe the flavour as anything close to light and fresh. It is a very ... Read the complete review

First off I would like to say that I do not enjoy tea. I am firmly in the coffee camp. On the odd occasion that I do drink tea it is either because my dad made me a cup and I don't have the heart to tell him I'm not that keen, I'm having afternoon tea complete with cakes and finger sandwiches or coffee is just not an option. In the past year I have probably consumes at most 5 cups of tea. So why did I buy green tea? Well I had a stinker of a cold and I am not a fan of taking medicine in general and only take it when absoloutely necessary. I went online and looked at what I could do to get rid of this and it seemed green tea came up quite often. It seems that actually ... Read the complete review

I am a health food fanatic. My health is important to me and so is my body so I am very careful about what I put into it. You only get one body I don't see the point in messing it up at every opportunity. My body takes me all through my life so I owe it the responsibility of looking after it. I drink a lot of green and white tea as they are two of the healthiest drinks available to us. I do however have trouble finding a brand I am completely happy with. I prefer to get my tea from health food shops but this can be a bit of a problem, not because I'm too lazy to walk two miles to the shop but sometimes by the time my day is finished the particular shops I'm referring to ... Green tea is becoming more and more popular in the west. The Chinese and Japanese have enjoyed Green tea for thousands of years and use it in religious ceremonies as well as a natural medicine. Studies on green tea have shown that this amazing drink is extremely high in antioxidants. Green tea comes from the same plant as black tea but most of the antioxidants in black tea are destroyed in the fermentation process. Studies have shown that some of the health benefits that Green tea has to offer is , fights plaque and and breath, can boost the immune system and even help to prevent cancers.
