Advantages: A fuity tea
Disadvantages: Lacking in the essential flavours
Twinings Strawberry and Mango infusion is described as a deliciously different and refreshing tea that perfectly combines the "quintessentially summer flavour of strawberries and sweet exotic taste of mango". There's probably more of a taste of strawberry than mango, but an overall lack of either taste - as too often with Twinings fruit and herbal teas I find the flavour rather lacking.
Twinings Strawberry and Mango is another one of Twinings soft Fruit blends that I have been sampling over the last twelve months. A fruity fusion brew always makes a nice change from normal tea and any tea with a mango flavour always appeals to me as mango is one of my favourite fruits. Whenever I experience the flavour of mango I am reminded of the time I ate wild mangos with Miju in the lost jungles of Borneo. She was a member of the long neck tribe and I had rescued her from the clutches of a crazed Orang-Utan. She offered me her wild mangos as a reward. This event took place many years ago but the memory of Miju's juicy mangos remains with me to this day (I know you all might think I'm making this up, but this is a true story).
Unfortunately this tea failed to evoke such memories. I find that mango flavour is often a good ingredient to spice up the flavour of bland or bitter tasting teas such as green tea, but with this tea the mango flavour is too subtle and is drowned out by the strawberry flavouring.
As with similar Twinings fruit teas, only by using two well squeezed tea bags per cup did I manage to gain any refreshing satisfaction. If you use one tea bag make sure you allow for a brewing period of at least five minutes. The tea can be drunk hot or cold. I often make such fruit teas in a large jug, let it cool and then put in the fridge to drink later as an iced tea.
