Advantages: Brilliant soother for sore throats

Disadvantages: Don't keep very well for long periods

Ach, for starters, it's TWININGS, people, not TWINNINGS!! It's on the box for goodness' sake, that little picture on the top left of your screen.

Right, rant over, on with the review. This is absolutely the only "fruit" type tea that doesn't make me retch - convinced yet?!! No OK, that's not the most attractive recommendation. However, i genuinely have never managed to drink even half a cup of the other exotic teas, they usually smell wonderful but the taste, to my taste buds, is pretty foul.

Twinings Lemon & Ginger is different. The tea has a genuinely clean, refreshing taste, with a serious kick from that ginger. I usually give the tea bag a good couple of minutes to brew, but you do have to be careful with this one not to overdo it - for one thing, the "heat" of the ginger increases the longer you brew, and if left for very long it can develop a slightly bitter taste.

Where these tea bags really come into their own, though, is if I have a cold or sore throat. Add in a half teaspoon of honey for extra soothing sweetness, and this together with the ginger, lemon and heat from the drink will do you the world of good. My other half hates tea of any kind, and i even managed to convert him to this stuff when he had a cold recently!

I usually wait till they're on offer before stocking up, so pay around £1 per box. The only downside i do find is, if you don't transfer the tea bags to an airtight container once the box is open, they do tend to lose flavour - especially if you only use them once in a while.

Summary: Always a box of these in my cupboard.
