 ... would have to be Tyskie. It's quite a strong brew - by comparison with a lager like Stella, for example, Tyskie is 5.6% ABV whereas Stella is 5.2%. I wouldn't advise drinking it in particularly large quantities for that reason, but if you prioritise quality over quantity then Tyskie is for you. A subtle, sweetish but not overpowering taste mean it goes well with food while being very drinkable on its own. Anybody who complains about the number of Polish people in the UK needs to take a step back and realise what is important - that with the recent EU expansion we have benefited from the arrival of Polish lager. I've not had a bad Polish lager yet - Zywiec, Lech and Okocim are all very palatable indeed, but the king of Polish lagers would have to be Tyskie. As a British expat in Poland, I am often asked why I live here. The answer that people usually reply from young men is either because of the beer or the girls! Whilst moving to a country based on a beer is a little far-fetched, I certainly do enjoy Tyskie. It's my local brew and a cold refreshing drink on a warm day or simply if you haven't had one for a while. It's really not very good warm or anything but very very cold. The beer itself has a nutty flavour, 5.4% alcohol and is quite pallatable. I do find that one of the negative aspects of this beer is that it can often lead to a headache more so than other lagers.
