Advantages: Superb taste
Disadvantages: Impossible to find
It's fair to say that Vanilla Coke is a pretty damn scarce drink to find these days, which is a shame considering it's also a lovely tasting beverage that takes the lovely taste of regular Coke and enhances it with a powerful kick of Vanilla. The last time I ever saw them on sale was at Thorpe Park in 2007 - I have no idea why they're not sold anymore, as I'm sure they must have sold quite well!
Vanilla Coke has a very unique, slightly strange taste, but if you've ever had an Ice Cream Float (which is lumps of vanilla ice cream dumped in a glass of coke), then that's pretty much what this tastes like (and that's a great thing!). It appears that Ice Cream Floats aren't consumed by too many people, because otherwise this Vanilla variant would surely have stuck around. It's a shame because it was a nice, slightly cosmopolitan addition to their already impressive array of flavours, including Cherry and Lime.
Some things are a bit of a gimmick, like arguably the Lime version of Coke, but Vanilla has a far more subtle taste to it - Lime is rather distinct and jarring, whereas Vanilla is noticeable, but no so much that it ever overpowers the great tasting Coke. It was more a well suited complement to the taste, but sadly it may never grace our mouths again, unless *crosses fingers* Coke see some sense, and people see some sense and buy the stuff!
Summary: Harder to find than the Holy Grail
