Advantages: Nice taste and very fruity and fizzy

Disadvantages: None

I do like a can of Vimto. It's been around for donkey's years and I usually pick up a can or two when I am at the petrol station, filling up. I have drunk both the still and sparkling versions of Vimto, but I have to say that I think the fizzy version is far preferable. It's sweet and fruity and very thirst quenching, though my other half says she thinks it's far too sweet and that drinking it actually makes her more thirsty!

I buy the 330ml ring pull cans and I usually manage to get them on offer if I buy more than one can at a time from the fridge at the petrol station. I pay about 49p per can. The little lad also enjoys a can of this and we will often share a can between us at night while we are watching the telly.

The reason I love this drink so much is because it is massively fruity. I can definitely taste a wide range of berries, including, blueberries, blackberries, grapes (I think) and I love the rich dark purple colour it has. It is a very intense colour and an individual taste that you just don't get with any other fizzy fruit drink. It's widely available in all the supermarkets I have been to and not too badly priced.

If anyone is interested, the ingredients are as follows:

Carbonated Water, Glucose Fructose Syrup, Fruit Juice From Concentrate 3%(Grape 1.5%, Blackcurrant 1.0%, Raspberry 0.5%), Vimto Flavour (including Natural Extracts of Fruits, Herbs, Barley Malt & Spices), Citric Acid, Colour (Anthocyanins), Preservatives (Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate), Antioxidant (Ascorbic Acid)

There are also 225 calories in each can, but I do know there is also a sugar free option. I have tried the sugar free Vimto on one ocacsion only and I have to say I wasn't so impressed as I found it quite weak and it didn't have the same 'hit' on the tongue and the back of the throat that the full sugar option has.

I have also mixed a can of Vimto with lemonade. Obviously, this makes the drink weaker, but it's a nice variation and very thirst quenching and refreshing. Great stuff.

I do recommend this great fizzy fruity drink. It's a drink all the family can enjoy. Some people might turn their noses up at a can of Vimto, but for me it's pure nectar.

Highly recommended.
