About two years ago I went to Gretna Green to my best friends? wedding. There were just the five of us: Sue the bride, Kayleigh (Sue?s daughter), her flower girl, myself, matron of honour plus the groom, Tony and of course Shane, my hubby as best man. But what has that to do with Vodka Reef? You may ask. Well that was where I first encountered this blended drink. I love Vodka drinks and the barman at the hotel we were staying suggested that Sue and I try a new Vodka drink, ?Reef?, too get rid of the pre-wedding nerves. Never one to turn down a challenge, we readily agreed. The Orange & Passion fruit drink was ?Yummy?! The drink just looked like and smelt like ... Read the complete review

Reef is a flavoured alcopop which brings back fond memories of my uni days where bottles would frequently be on special offer on the various student nights, normally for around £1 which was a real bargain. I remember alot of flavours existing from Apple & Melon to Raspberry & Cranberry, but nowadays I only tend to see the Orange & Passion Fruit ones. The bottles tend to go down quite easily as they taste so good, so you've gotta be careful to make sure you don't go overboard, even though they taste like a fruit drink, they do contain alcohol within them. Unlike some of the other alcopops on the market, Reef is actually still which I ... Read the complete review

I write this review of Vodka Reefs as a guy that likes his Whiskey and Beer, so my review probably isn't going to reflect the views of this drink's target audience. I'm not really an alcopop man at all, but I was given one of these for free recently, and well, a drink is a drink, so I gave it a go. My last prior memory was drinking one when I was about 16, but I've since graduated to what are, in my opinion, far richer and nicer drinks (sorry if that sounds elitist, not the intention). The first thing you'll notice when drinking a Reef is the extremely sweet, almost jarringly so, taste. Even for an alcopop, this is a saccharine, almost uncomfortably so after ... A few years ago, in a bid to curb the binge drinking particularly amongst teenage and often underage girls, the government hiked the price of 'alcopops' to make them more inaccessible to this age group. As a result, the alcopops market has been severely dented, and they no longer take pride of place in bottle bars or in the fridges of other bars. With the money available to some of the bigger name brands, products such as Smirnoff Ice have managed to maintain their strength in this corner of the market, whereas others, such as Vodka Reef, have dropped considerably. However, Reef is still available, it just won't be as common as it once was. Reef is ... Read the complete review

About 4 months ago, when I turned 18 I never drank under age honest. I went into my local Wetherspoons (there are other well established drinking establishments). On one of those budget nights that students all now about and asked the bar man for a cheap “alco-pop” like you do. He turns around pulls out a reef from the fridge standing behind him. I’m not a back blended drink drinking but this had me going from the moment go, just fell down the throat as smooth as orange drink at an amazing 5% concentration. After my encounter with “orange & passion” I had to try the “mango & apple” as well as the “pineapple & ... Read the complete review
