Advantages: Refreshing, light drink
Disadvantages: a bit on the sweet side
This is another one of the dreaded "alcopops". These drinks are a great invention in my opinion as they are a way of making a spirit last a lot longer and they feel refreshing - especially in the summer.
My favourite still has to Smirnoff Ice but I picked a pack of these up last week as they were on special offer in my local Co-op (2 for £1.50) - not sure if this was a local offer as the shop seemed to have quite a few that only have a couple of months left on their sell by or if this is a national offer.
I popped them in my fridge ready for a saturday evenings relaxation with bottle and a good film. The first thing I noticed when I took the bottle out of the fridge was that it had separated a bit so needed a good shake. It reminded me a lot of the J20's which were also in my fridge but it is a bit more "orange".
However once opened it did smell really nice - reminded me instantly of summer. My first impressions on tasting the drink was the sweetness - this is also something it has in common with J2O's. You could just about taste the vodka in the drink but it was really masked by the sweetness.
The taste wasn't overly sweet and the orange was probably the predominent taste. I don't think it will be replacing my drink of choice - smirnoff Ice - but if I see it on special offer I may well buy it again for the summer months
Summary: A good alcopop
