Advantages: Easy to Drink, Refreshing
Disadvantages: Too easy to drink
About 4 months ago, when I turned 18 I never drank under age honest. I went into my local Wetherspoons (there are other well established drinking establishments). On one of those budget nights that students all now about and asked the bar man for a cheap “alco-pop” like you do. He turns around pulls out a reef from the fridge standing behind him. I’m not a back blended drink drinking but this had me going from the moment go, just fell down the throat as smooth as orange drink at an amazing 5% concentration. After my encounter with “orange & passion” I had to try the “mango & apple” as well as the “pineapple & citrus”. All with their very own unique taste me personally favours the “orange & passion”. At Wetherspoons (in Brighton) just being a mere £1.09 proves a very good bargain in anyone’s books. But be careful in clubs and bar it can be pushed as high as £4.50 so always ask the question “how much for a reef?” before purchasing otherwise you may have to re-mortgage to raise the money needed. Supermarkets and off-licences do not give great discounts upon “reef” normally retailing from £1 to £2 for a single bottle or £3 to £5.50 for a pack of 4. When house drinking with a few mates or throwing my own parties I do enjoy stacking up on “reef” not many but just enough to refresh you between shots, downing pints and homemade cocktails. My friend has got a theory that when you get drunk on reef it results in heavy memory lost, but I myself have never got drunk on reefs alone. Reef slips down very easy; it’s hard to keep track of how many you had especially when drinking from a glass or a bottle bong as from the bottle does slow down the speed you can drink, plus it is not fizzy at all so you do not get wind either. Alcopops are not preserved to be much of an adult drinking so sometime I feel out of place drinkin
g them in pubs and bars. The ease of drinking also seen as promoting under age drinking as when I was 14 beers used to taste horrid, shots used to burn too much but these would have been a treat. 5% is very high for an alcopop with VK just summing into a 4% so it can get “hit” very hard, but again if this is what you want it proves a very good choice (not that a condone binge drinking). I think personally that “reef” is a very enjoyable drink with a good alcoholic content in it, I do issue warning that you have to watch how many you drink, god knows you don’t want to wake up with that 16 stone girl next to you the next morning. Enjoy yourself just keep an eye on it. Reef cocktail: > 2 bottles of reef > 4 shots of vodka > 1 shot of sambuca
