Advantages: Tastes much better than most bottled water
Disadvantages: might be boring for some
I get through a lot of water, infact one day I decided to keep a little tally of how many pints I drink a day and I was surprised to see that it was around 15! As a result I have great skin and never have any problems in the bowel area just so you know! I normally drink tap water because I find bottled water to be a bit of a con but I was caught short when I was out and about the other day and desperately needed something to drink. Along with a foot long chicken sandwich from Subway, I picked up a bottle of this water. I have no idea what it cost me because I had a voucher!
Volvic is a mineral water that filters through layers of volcanic rock in France. It comes in all sorts of different sized bottles including a bigger sports version for those of you who drink on the move.
My taste buds have become accustomed to tap water so whenever I drink a bottled water, I don't tend to like it at all. This one was different. I tend to find that water like Evian feels too smooth and has a mineral taste to it which is rather strong. Volvic wasn't like this and although I could tell it was bottled water it was as close to tap water as you can get.
They are currently running a 14 day challenge whereby they are encouraging people to drink 1.5 litres of Volvic a day to see if you feel any better at the end of it. This is obviously just a ploy to get you drinking the stuff but I'm pretty sure if you drink 1.5litres of tap water a day, you'd be feeling better.
The only other thing I would say about this water is that it states on the bottle that you shouldn't reuse it which I always thought was a marketing ploy to try and get you to always buy a fresh bottle full. Apparently it's not and if you reuse the bottle time and time again, it gives off chemicals from the plastic that can be harmful. I don't mind myself as I have never felt ill even though I use the bottles until they start to crack but I wouldn't advise giving them to young children just incase.
If you like this one then there are flavoured water in the Volvic range which are very nice and I have yet to review. The strawberry one is a particular flavour of mine but if you don't think you'll like that then how about the lemon and lime one?
Summary: I really like this.

- 05/06/09 If you like the plain Volvic then go for this rather than the flavoured range as they are full of sugar. |
