I am going to begin with stating the fact that I did not used to drink anywhere near the recommended amount of water daily, but now, with the help of flavoured water, I am more inclined to do so, and enjoy it at the same time. ============================== THE TASTE ================================== We all find water to be a drink that we would never choose over another drink we enjoy, I mean, imagine if Coca Cola was healthy to the same extent as water? would you pick the plain taste of water, or the sweet taste of Coke? It's an obvious answer I'm sure! (judging that you like Coke that is!) But now I have started to buy strawberry flavoured Volvic water, and I have to say that had a lovely taste! it's not too much of a sour strawberry taste, and it's not too plain! as the three bears would say, "It's just right", excuse the cheesy pun! ====================== CHOOSING IT OVER SUGARY DRINKS ======================== Another thing that I find helpful with this drink is that it is of course, like any other liquid product, bottled, and my way of choosing Volvic water over Lucozade, Coke or Pepsi, is to place the bottles that I purchase and place them outside of the kitchen and in the room that is just before I step into my kitchen, and then I will nine times out of ten, decide to drink water instead. Personally this works for me but everyone is different, if you have not tried this way of choosing water over a sugary beverage, do try this way! and I hope it works for you!
I am not a fan of drinking normal water on its own. Out of the tap it tastes funny, and in bottles it feels like you should have brought tap water to save on the cost! This flavoured water by Volvic is a really tasty drink, that I bought because I found a deal on Wowcher. I had some credits to use up and I got 48 of these for £25 including delivery by courier. It comes in a 50cl bottle, with a red lid, and see through plastic bottle. The label has the 'volcanicty' slogan and picture, as well as a picture of a few strawberries and the name of the drink. Volvic water is apparently different because it goes through six layers of volcanic rock. Its made in France, It does taste really nice and clear. The strawberry taste hits your taste buds quite strongly in the first sip. Then it becomes a nice sweet sensation. It has no aftertaste, and leaves you feeling refreshed and hydrated. Each 250ml serving contains 50 calories, which is quite a lot for water and 12 grams of sugar. This must be the strawberry tasting part. For me though I am slightly addicted to this sugary rush without the guilt trip. The bottle fills me up, but I havent tried drinking it during exercise yet. Its a natural strawberry flavouring which is better than a manufactured one I suppose. I have recycled the bottles I have drunk already as it states that you are able to do this, and will continue to finish off the two crates I have.
In this warm weather it's very easy to become dehydrated so it's important to drink plenty of fluids. Fizzy or hot drinks just don't kill the thirst for me, so I try to drink as much water as possible. I'm not fussy when it comes to water, but my boyfriend doesn't like plain old water so I often pick up flavoured water. My favourite in the Volvic range is lemon & lime and my boyfriend's is this Strawberry flavour so I normally get a couple of each. The bottles are clear with a blue lid, the name and a small picture of the fruit flavour is on the clear label. They are to be kept refrigerated and used within a week of opening. The water is sugar free, so is also a good way of getting kids who are fussy about drinking water to drink a flavoured drink without worrying about the teeth rottingly high levels of sugar that can be found in many soft drinks. There is also only 2 calories per 250ml. The water can be bought in smaller sizes but the bottle I normally buy is 1.5 litres. It is usually around £1 but is also often on offer such as 3 for £2.50 or 4 for £3 depending on where you shop. My opinion The flavour of the water is quite a strong strawberry flavour, it is a bit of the sweet side for my liking and isn't as fruity as I expected but is still tasty and thirst quenching. Even though I find it sweet, as soon as I open a bottle it's hard to put down and it's quite moreish which is good as you can easily get plenty of fluids into you. This is why I would especially recommend it for children, who often have a sweet tooth, as they can get all the hydration and goodness of water with a tasty flavour. I do prefer other flavours but will continue to buy this for my boyfriend who loves the taste. Ingredients volvic natural mineral water (99.8%) Acidity regulator (citric acid) Natural strawberry flavouring with other natural flavouring Preservative (potassium benzoate) Sweeteners (sucralose, acesulfame K)
I find this water very refreshing and find that it tastes really nice. However, I also find that it does not quench thirst. I can drink this product and find it makes my mouth dry and I end up drinking more and more until the bottle is gone and my quench is not sufficed. Though this drink is not good for your thirst, it tastes good and it still hydrates you. The touch of strawberry means that the strawberry flavoring is not too strong and harsh. It is gentle and subtle. I originally had Volvic on the rare occasion when the shop I went into had no Evian. Then a few years ago they started producing this Volvic a touch of fruit and when I was on the way to the cinema I just had to pick one of these up. Though to this current day I find it is still on the rare occasion I buy this product. I would rather drink this over plain water though as it is a nice refreshing change on the occasion. The product comes in a transparent plastic square shaped bottle. It has a thin transparent label on with the branding logo of Volvic and the image of ripe strawberry's. The rest of the label states the ingredients and nutritional values. As well as tasting subtly like strawberry is also has the natural scent of strawberry. It is not over powering and neither is it a fake strawberry scent. The product cost me £1.00 from any average shop that sells bottles of water and fizzy pop. I would recommend this to anyone who likes sweet flavored things or wants a refreshing change.
I was out shopping a couple of weeks ago and needed to buy a drink, I was in my local Superdrug so I picked up a bottle of Volvic Touch Of Strawberry flavour, I would usually go for something with a bit of fizz but I needed to take a couple of painkillers and decided something still would be better. Volvic Touch Of Strawberry is sold in a clear plastic bottle which has a slight squarish shape, the lid is a red plastic screw on/off lid do if you don't want to drink it all at once you don't have to. The bottle has a label wrapped around it which on the front displays the Volvic logo and gives the flavour, there is also a couple of pictures of strawberry pieces on there too. The rest of the label gives the ingredients, the nutritional values and a little bit of information about Volvic water. When I removed the lid and gave the water a quick sniff I was pleased as the strawberry flavour in the water smelt natural and not overly sweet. It really smelt like fresh strawberries. It tasted like fresh strawberries too, not a very strong flavour but lovely all the same and there was no unpleasant aftertaste either. I drank my Volvic Touch of Strawberry straight from a fridge when it was really cold and it was incredibly refreshing and thirst quenching, however I was surprised to see, after I had drunk half of it, that this contains 50 calories per 250ml serving which means the whole bottle contains 100calories. If I had realised this I wouldn't have bought it, I like to stick to calorie free drinks, I would rather use my calories up on food, having said that though I did enjoy the drink at the time. I paid £1.00 for my bottle of Volvic Touch of Strawberry which in my opinion is average for a bottle of drink this size, I would certainly recommend this if you don't mind the calories, its refreshing and fruity and a nice change from sparkling drinks. Since I bought my Volvic I have discovered a 1.5 litre bottle of this in Tesco for the same price and its in a sugar free version so in future I will buy this one.
I really dislike plain water and am often a naughty girl resorting instead to sugary fizzy drinks or fruit juices. In my quest to get a bit healthier, and to hopefully lose some of the lingering baby weight, I have tried several brands of flavoured still and sparkling water. Volvic Touch of Strawberry Water is a still water with a mild hint of Strawberry. It is widely available in Supermarkets and can be brought both as individual sized bottles or as 1.5 litre bottle which costs just under £2. As well as the Strawberry flavour there are also other flavours in the range such as lemon and lime, Orange and Peach and the limited edition Summer Fruits. They also offer these flavours and the Strawberry in a sugar free variety but this is a step too far for me and I did not like the taste as much as it tasted of sweetener. I love the taste of the Strawberry Touch of fruits, the flavour is mild but really takes away the blandness you get with plain water. It does not taste overly sweet, there is just the tiniest hint of flavour which takes away the blandness of plain water without being overpowering. It is also much better for me than the sugary drinks I have been favouring as there are only 50 calories per 250ml- however this is still many more than plain water. I find this drink to be really refreshing especially if served straight from the fridge or with ice cubes and highly recommend it especially if like me you are not a great fan of plain water.
I know I should eat and drink healthier, but I just don't. Around one day a month i get a bit of a health kick and drink some water. So one day I walks in the shop and bought this instead of a plain bottle of water. Why I wanted this.... As I said I go on a health kick. Usually I go into the shop and buy a packet of gum and a bottle of water. I usually buy plain water, non flavoured because I find that some flavoured waters are not nice and leave me with a nasty after taste. Volvic..... It is still natural mineral water that has been filtered through layers of volcanic rock. The flavoured ones, are flavoured. Packaging... The Water comes in a see through plastic bottle with a red lid and a label, on the label it says Volvic and information about the water. The water..... The flavoured water is clear. As soon as you unscrew the lid you can smell strawberries it's a very strong smell. It tastes beautiful, it actually tastes like a strawberry juice, but it's not! Ingredients.... Volvic natural mineral water 94.8% Sugar 4.8% Citric acid Natural flavouring Flavouring Potassium benzoate Health information..... Per 100ml Cal 2 Fat 0 Sat fat 0 Sugar trace Salt 0 What I thought.... I'm very very impressed with this flavoured water, I believe Volvic has changed the taste of flavoured water. It does not taste cheap in anyway. Like I said its just like drinking juice, but water. It makes it much more enjoyable when you know it's water that your drinking. I never thought drinking water could be this nice at all. I would certainly recommend this especially to children. I'm a big coca cola freak but I actually prefer drinking this to pop. Availability... I think you can buy this is almost any shop supermarket. Also I believe that you can buy this online. Price.... Depending on what size bottle you get, 1.5 litre or 50cl. If you get the little bottle they are around £1.00 and the bigger bottles around £1.50. Very often supermarkets have deals on. Advantages.... Beautiful tasting water drink. Very healthy. Disadvantages... When you screw the cap off, the hole what you drink out of it a little too big. I think £1 for some flavoured water is a bit pricey. Would I recommend. Yes!
I'm a bit fussy when it comes to drinking water. I hate normal plain water and have to have it flavoured to some degree. I often buy flavoured water if I see it on special offer. Asda have the 1.5 litre bottles of Volvic a touch of fruit on offer at the moment for 70 pence each. It's worth noting that this can also be purchased in 500ml bottles. The packaging is quite typical of bottled water being made from transparent plastic and recyclable. The label is wrapped around near the top of the bottle and is mainly transparent with the product information and red detailing signifying the strawberry flavour. The thing I like about this bottle is that the screw top lid is also coloured in red for strawberry, I have quite a few bottles of this in different flavours and it's easy to see what flavour I'm grabbing from the cupboard. The water itself looks exactly like water, it's clear in colour and is runny like water! Upon opening the bottle you are met with quite a strong strawberry scent. The taste is quite right, I think Volvic have got the balance between water and strawberry just right. The touch of strawberry makes the water quite sweet tasting, it doesn't have a very artificial strawberry taste and is one of my favourite flavours. I usually drink this at room temperature but in the (slightly) hotter months I do sometimes put the bottles in the fridge to cool them down a little. Either way this drink is very thirst quenching just like drinking normal water. Each 250ml serving of this drink contains 50 calories and 12g of sugar so it definitely isn't as good for you or your teeth than normal water. As I don't drink normal water, this Volvic touch of strawberry water is a better alternative to fizzy drinks so I can deal with the nutritional contents. I'd definitely recommend this Volvic touch of fruit in the strawberry flavour. It tastes like strawberry and when found on special offer is a bargain. It certainly isn't the healthiest of drinks but definitely isn't the worst.
As part of my ongoing healthy kick I am trying to drink more water but sometimes it is just so boring! I always like to have a range of different flavours so when I was out today I decided to buy this 500ml bottle of Volvic Strawberry Mineral Water! The water itself is quite refreshing and tastes lovely. It looks just like simple normal water, but the addition of a touch of fruit (strawberry in this case!) adds some a lovely dimension to what would be a boring water drink for me! In terms of the flavour, it is hard to say it tastes like the actual strawberry fruit, but more has a hint taste of a strawberry juice which has been from concentrate. It is not overpowering so the water does not taste too fruity, but has a strong enough dimension that the aroma of the strawberry flavouring can be smelled in the water when opening the bottle. In terms of quenching my thirst, I always find that with drinking water, I drink a lot less as it is much more satisfying in comparison to when I drink fizzy drinks and juices I drink tons and tons! With this water, it provides me all the benefits of drinking water in that it prevents me being thirsty every 5 minutes but adds a nice flavour which makes me drink it a lot easier as opposed to water when I wince at the taste and drink it because I am forcing myself to! The bottle is the simple standard, water bottle with a nicely coloured red lid so to match with the strawberry theme of the water. It has a resealable turn cap so it can be drank slowly throughout the day which I like! Overall I really like this water, and recommend it for people wanting to up their healthy water intake to the recommend 8 glasses a day, but want a little flavour to add some fun to it!
I drink a fair amount of water during the day and during exercise but I find it does get quite dull after a while so for alternatives I tend to go for Volvic Touch of Fruit with Strawberry flavoured water drink. The Bottle The Volvic Touch of Fruit range come in the typical see through plastic water bottles (recyclable). The range comes in either a portable 500 ml size or a rather large 1.5 l bottle. The packaging and labelling is quite simple being clear like the bottle with the Volvic volcano logo on and some cute little strawberry images splashing about in water! The strawberry red colour adds a bit of colour to the bottle. The lid is a screw on cap and is again strawberry red in colour. The Water To look at the Volvic Touch of Fruit seems just like plain old water, it is transparent and wet! On opening the bottle however, you can smell the strawberry flavour in it. It is quite a strong strawberry smell for 'a touch of fruit' but pleasant all the same. This Strawberry flavoured water is best served chilled and consumed within twenty four hours, after this time it tends to taste a bit stale and dry. The water is very refreshing to drink and the strawberry flavouring is quite delicate and satisfying, I do not like really strong strawberry flavoured drinks. It goes down a little too easily in my opinion and I find the bottle is nearly always gone in a few gulps. The Volvic water goes through six layers of volcanic filtration through hundreds of metres of volcanic material before it gets to the Volvic factory. This apparently gives it its mineral composition and 'Volcanicity' taste. I really like the taste of Volvic water anyway but this drink with a touch of strawberry added is bliss. Although this is a water drink and it goes towards your daily intake it does have a fair amount of calories (see nutrition below). There is a diet version available as well but as I don't drink this on a daily basis it is a nice treat to have the full fat version. Ingredients Volvic Natural Mineral Water (94.8%), Sugar (4.8%), Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid) ,Strawberry Flavouring ,Preservative (Potassium Benzoate) Nutrition Typical Values /100ml-Energy value 82.7kJ/19.8kcal-Protein 0g-Carbohydrate 4.8g-(of which sugars 4.8g)-Fat 0g-(of which saturates 0g)-Fibre 0g-Sodium trace-(equivalent as salt trace) Availability This is available everywhere, corner shops, supermarkets and vending machines alike. A 500ml bottle generally costs about £1, well worth the money for lovely flavours you get in this water.
I have always bought plain Volvic water for years because I find that they make the nicest tasting water compared to brands such as Evian and Highland Spring. I love strawberries, but for some reason, I don't like strawberry flavoured things such as ice cream and yoghurt (I know, I'm strange) so, I assumed that I probably wouldn't like this either. A few years ago, I was shopping, and decided to give it a try. I'm not quite sure what urged me to buy it, but I'm glad that I did. ~Taste~ The phrase 'Touch of Strawberry' is an under statement in my opinion. You would expect it to taste like water with just a hint of strawberry, but you can really taste the full strawberry flavour. Like most flavoured products, it doesn't take exactly like strawberry, but it is easy to recognise that it is supposed to be a strawberry flavoured product. I don't drink a lot of water, possibly a quarter of the recommended amount, but this strawberry flavoured water definitely helps boost my daily water intake. I used to think of drinking water as being kind of like a task! Like I had to drink it, even though I don't really enjoy it. But I can honestly say that I am addicted to this flavoured water, and I could live on it if I wanted to. ~Styling & Price~ 1.5 litre bottles cost 99p from Tesco, which I think is a very reasonable price for a big brand like Volvic. The bottles are clear plastic with a red lid to represent strawberry. The plastic label round the middle has the Volvic logo and says 'Touch of Strawberry' with a picture of a few strawberries underneath. It gives you the nutritional information and ingredients as well as an expiry date and the usual description of how Volvic water is filtered and produced. ~Nutritional Information~ Each 250ml serving contains: 50 Calories 12 Grams of Sugar Traces of Salt No Fat No Saturates This drink isn't particularly bad for you, however, I usually drink around 1 litre a day as I don't drink much other than this, and that's 48 grams of sugar, which isn't going to be good for my teeth! However, for the same price, you can get the sugar free version, which I buy often as well as this, which tastes pretty much exactly the same. ~Storage/Serving~ On the label, it recommends that you keep the drink refrigerated and you consume it within 10 days of opening. It is best served cool/cold, but not ice cold in my opinion. I don't always keep the water in the fridge and it tastes just as nice. The way I see it is that you don't often keep plain water in the fridge, mainly because you get it from the tap, so it shouldn't make much of a difference wether you keep it in the fridge or not. But that's just me, I suppose. ~Overall~ I would definitely recommend this drink to people who love strawberries, or who just want a way that they can increase their water intake without having to have the plain taste of water. It is only 99p in Tesco for a 1.5 litre bottle, so you can't go wrong!
I always take a bottle of water into work with me every day and keep it on my desk. I find doing this helps me drink the recommended 8 glasses a day if it's sitting looking at me. Also the water at work tastes awful from the tap (we have no water machine). You can actually taste the chlorine in it and it comes out cloudy. However the water at home is much nicer and I usually buy a couple of bottles of water every now and then so that once they have gone I re-use the bottles to take in my tap water. Recently I decided to try the Volvic Touch of Strawberry for a change. I like the normal Volvic Bottled Water so figured a splash of strawberry flavour might be nice for a more summery drink. The bottles were on offer at Tesco (and still are at the moment) for 3 for £2.00 and these where the 1.5 litre bottle so were a great bargain! Normally this is priced at around £1.00 for a 1.5l bottle. There were other flavours but none that took my fancy so I got the 3 bottle of strawberry. The bottles are a good size and hold 1.5 l. They are tall and slim. Around the middle of the bottle is a plastic sleeve which on the front shows the Volvic logo and image along with "Touch of Strawberry" and an image of 2 strawberries underneath. Just above the logo is a small sticker like image stating the water is sugar free. Around the sides and back of the bottle is the product information, where Volvic Mineral Water comes from and nutritional information, which is stated below:- Typical Values 100ml Energy value 82.7kJ/19.8kcal Protein 0g Carbohydrate 4.8g of which sugars 4.8g Fat 0g of which saturates 0g Fibre 0g Sodium trace equivalent as salt trace It contains:- Volvic Natural Mineral Water (94.8%) Sugar (4.8%) Acidity Regulator (Citric Acid) Strawberry Flavouring Preservative (Potassium Benzoate) The Volvic Touch of Strawberry is said to be "Tasty volcanic hydration that's berry good" and "Volvic Touch of Strawberry combines Volvic Natural Mineral water and delicious fruity flavours to provide tasty volcanic hydration". When you first open the bottle you can instantly smell strawberry which smells quite strong considering it's only supposed to be a touch! Surprisingly when you taste the water the taste isn't too strong and just provides a slight flavour. The water tastes fresh and I loved the slight strawberry taste and the fragrance in your glass is only faint. I always chill my bottle of water but by the end of the working day it ends up at room temperature. When chilled the water is lovely but I found when it warmed up slightly it tasted stale and not nice at all. I have since then made sure that when I am drinking it, it need to be cold and not to allow it to warm up Overall I found the water a nice change to your standard top or bottled water. It makes a refreshing drink for spring summer and I do get through the Volvic Touch of Strawberry bottle quicker than standard Volvic as it is a nicer taste.
I try and drink as much water as I can as it is much better for you than fizzy drinks but I often find water dull and boring so sometimes opt for flavoured waters instead. One of the flavoured waters that I have drunk recently is the Volvic touch of Strawberry flavoured water. I would probably drink this strawberry water much more if it was cheaper but it can be quite expensive I recently purchased a 500ml individual sized bottle for £1.00 which I thought was very expensive as it is just water with some flavouring added! You can also buy the strawberry flavoured Volvic in larger 2 litre bottles in most large supermarkets for around £1.00 which in my opinion is still quite expensive but still much better value than the smaller bottles. The water comes in a clear plastic bottle with a red screw cap lid. The bottle has a thin plastic sleeve that wraps around the middle of the bottle that contains all the necessary information about the water on. As the water is flavoured it does contain quite a bit of sugar, so do not be fooled by thinking that because it is water that it contains hardly any sugar or calories as this is not the case. Don't get me wrong it is not as bad a fizzy pop but I was still quite surprised to see that a 250ml serving contains 12g of sugar and 50 calories. When you first open the bottle the water has quite a strong strawberry smell which is very pleasant and appealing. The water itself looks just like normal clear still water there is no colour to it at all. I would say that the taste is quite pleasant but it is a little artificial and not as natural tasting as I expected. The water is also a little sweet which I think makes it not as refreshing and thirst quenching as I expected it to be. Overall I will continue to buy this strawberry Volvic in the future for a change from plain water but I will not be drinking it on a regular basis as it just contains far too much sugar.
I'm not really a big fan of just plain Water. I find it pretty boring, so when this range came out a few years ago I had to try it. I sometimes drink fizzy flavoured Water which is Supermarket branded ones but this sounded like a good one to try as we usually have Volvic Water in the house although it is the plain one. This range of flavoured Waters come in a few different flavours and i've seen it in 2 different sizes. There is the 1.5 litre bottle which the last I looked cost around £1.50. This was a while ago so I can't comment on the current price. The other size is the 500ml bottle and this often sells for around the £1 mark. This Water is just the normal Volvic Water which has been Filtered through the Rocks and that as it states on the label but there is Fruit flavouring in it, so I would say it tastes a lot more interesting. This flavour isn't my favourite one but it a nice change. The Strawberry is a nice, natural flavouring and I think this tastes like Natural Strawberry Juice. There is plenty of flavour in here and I could easily drink this through the day instead of Juice and not feel like i'm drinking some boring Water. Per 250ml this has 50 calories so it isn't exactly all that Saintly for being a Water. Still less calories than a Full Sugar Juice though. So if you are wanting to drink more Water and need something more exciting than plain old Water then I would say that this brand is the best for this kind of flavoured Water. Yes, it is more expensive than other brands but if you want a little change then try this. I would recommend this flavour to try, but my favourite is the Lemon and Lime one.
I confess. I haven't always enjoyed water, it's bland and not very exciting. When I was in Tesco a few years back I remember seeing this water on the shelves and the vividness of the colours on the bottle really stood out for me, plus I had never tried flavoured water before, however theirs a first for everything! Volvic always go over the top with the whole mountain water thing, so it is good for you with all the minerals and stuff. The mineral content of the water is very high, which only persuaded me more to buy it. The taste of plain water is never appealing, to anyone! When I first tasted this drink, I was blown away! The strawberry in the drink is very noticeable. I don't see how they can call this drink a touch of strawberry as it's very sweet. I must say, it has 72grams of sugar in the whole 1.5litre bottle. Now, for water that's REALLY high. This puts off so many people from buying at, and as a member who has read other author's reviews this is definitely the main factor. Nutritional ingredients: (Per 250g) Calories: 50 (3%) Sugars: 12g (13%) Fat: 0g (0%) Saturates: 0g (0%) Salt: Trace (<1%) In this bottle of flavoured water, the following minerals can be found: - Trachyandesite - Pozzolana - Basalt - Granite. The water soaks through these layers of rock and absorbs the minerals. I think that doctors recommend drinking water as it does have such a high mineral level, helping with many aspects of mental and physical health. This drink is still, not fizzy; the main reason why I like it. This drink does have a sharp taste a first, but it is so sweet and it's not even that un-healthy. My mum is always telling me to drink more water, and now she couldn't be happier, I do take the label off so she thinks it's plain, one up for me! You can purchase these drinks in 500ml bottles (portable) and 1.5 litres (home usage) in pretty much any supermarket and off license in the country, and I assume others. Hahaha! I always drink this now as it is also available in a range of other flavours and of course the plain drinks from volvic water. You can buy the blackcurrent version of this and the lemon and lime and the orange and peach for roughly £1.10 in most stores. I payed 99p for this product and I was completely impressed and I highly recommend it to anyone. Five stars as there isn't anything that I would class as a disadvantage.
