Advantages: WELL, I GUESS IT WOULD HYDRATE YOU SHOULD YOU NEED HYDRATING...

Disadvantages: TASTES HORRID, IS FULL OF BAD THINGS, COSTS MORE THAN TURNING ON THE TAP....

I've always been a big fan of water. Plain, old fashioned tap water coming in a close second to the sheer freezing joy of drinking spring water straight from the spring, high up in the wooded hills of Speyside. But I digress. Water is great. It's good for your skin, your body won't function without it, and it's got a good deal less by way of calories than a can of fizzy pop. It quenches your thirst and sets you on the way to be healthy, wealthy and wise. Or maybe just healthy!

So when the whole "fruity" waters came out, I wasn't that convinced. They tasted like watered down cordial, which isn't all that nice. This sugar free version of a strawberry flavoured drink is much the same, though to be fair, it's the best tasting strawberry water I've had in a while.

Himself brought it in - don't know that I would have contemplated it to be fair, but I thought I'd try it just to see what it was like. That was about 2 weeks ago and there is still a half a bottle of it left in the fridge, which I think says it all really. The bottle is 1.5 litres, and is very attractively designed, looking for all the world like a normal volvic bottle, but with a red cap and a couple of strawberries on the front. It is a still water, and has a small round sign on the front of the label saying sugar free.

The taste, well I think I've covered it already really - very watered down strawberry cordial. Not too bad it it's freezing cold, straight from the fridge, because you don't really taste anything that's THAT cold, but room temperature, it's horrid. Very sickly sweet, in a fake kind of way ( that will be the sucralose and acesulfame K) and without the juicy, mouthwatering aspect of real strawberries. The ingredients say it has strawberry flavourings in it ( as well as the preservative potassium benzoate...yuck city!) and I have to say, you really can tell.

Himself likes it fine enough, and I have to say that if I was on a desert islant and the only refreshment available was this, I'd probably drink it, but not before scouting around for a natural water source!

A 1.5 litre bottle cost us 99p from the local Tesco garage, though prices will probably differ depending on where you shop.

There are other flavours available, including Lemon and Lime, and Orange and Peach, the latter sounds like it might be okay, though as I haven't tasted either of them I can't really say.

Would I buy it again? Not unless I was dying of thirst and there was no other alternative. Give me good old plain and ordinary water any day!

Thank you for reading, Kate x

Summary: WOULD ONLY BUY THIS AGAIN IF THERE WAS NO OTHER ALTERNATIVE .

I agree, very sweet and sickly...water shouldn't have a taste, should it?

Great review. I don't drink any of the flavoured waters, just don't like them.

Overpriced, overhyped so called mineral and spring waters and ones with added flavours - just absolute marketing rip-offs. I'll just stick to tap water like you
