Advantages: no aftertaste
Disadvantages: expensive
The sparkling water trend slowly comes over from the mainland which is good for me as I much prefer sparkling to still water; for me it's just a lot more refreshing than normal still water.
Last week I was feeling very lazy and went to Waitrose for my weekly shopping which is just around the corner instead of driving into town to go to Tesco. I know that Waitrose is quite a bit more expensive than my usual supermarket and the sparkling water is of course no exception.
Waitrose offers 2 litre bottle of sparkling water for 39 pence - that's 30p more than a 2 litre bottle would cost you at Tesco and 20pence more than at ASDA but still a reasonable price compared to what I paid in Germany for it.
In the end it is sparkling water, it looks like sparkling water and it tastes like sparkling water and it's down to your choice of supermarket. I do like the fizzy and refreshing taste and prefer it to the normal water. Compared to other (cheaper?) options the Waitrose water doesn't have any aftertaste and has exactly the right amount of fizz; that means that they are quite high in fizz which I like. You can keep the water in the fridge for ages and it won't loose its fizz even after several days.
What I really like about the Waitrose Scottish Water is that they actually give you the nutrition info and the origin on the label. The water is low in sodium and nitrates and one litre provides you with 25.6mg of calcium and 6.4mg of magnesium. The Campsie Fells in Lennoxtown are the source for the water.
Neither Tesco nor ASDA write any information about source, nutrition or anything on their label so it was quite a nice surprise to see the very good trace element levels on the Waitrose bottle. I'm not saying that the cheaper options are inferior but you'll never know as they don't tell you much about their product.

Price & Value
As I said it's not the cheapest option on the market but with 39p for 2 litres it's not too expensive; you can also save some money if you buy the 4 x 2 litres pack for 1.44pound.
It's a good sparkling water with no unpleasant aftertaste, a good amount of fizz and with a good level of trace elements - I can highly recommend it!
