I do confess I am becoming slightly fanatical about my German beers... But let's be honest here; They are generally consistent if not only because of the way they are produced; A centuries old German Purity Law means the recipies are always going to be chemical-free and made from pure, natural ingredients perfected over centuries. This means even the 'bad' ones are generally good when compared to British standards (or lack of) of beer. But let's get one thing straight; Warsteiner Pilsner is definitely not one of the bad ones! Warsteiner is a nice and refreshing German pilsner beer which is 4.8%. It seems to have become slightly more popular in the UK within the past few years and is served in quite a lot of bars. I really like this beer as it makes a nice change from drinking Becks or Stella which I have tended to drink quite a lot of over the years the only problem for me with drinking it is that it always hits me pretty quickly and by no means am I a lightweight drinker!! For some reason Warsteiner has a much quicker and stronger impact on me than other beers which for that reason I have to drink it with caution! Warsteiner is probably one of the finest beers made in Germany, if not the best. It has a soft taste but is by no means as watery as some beers that you can buy in England; at the same time, however, it is not so strong that you will immediately get drunk but it allows you to drink and enjoy quite a few bottles before you will feel any effect. In contrast to many other beers, Warsteiner also goes extremely well with different types of food, and of course especially with meat, but it also tastes very good in conjunction with Italian food such as pizza or lasagne.
