Advantages: You'll never try it again

Disadvantages: You believe it can help your diet

I love wine, it is my pleasure and my downfall. I have drunk so many different kinds, whites in particular, that I consider myself, by sheer volume to have a growing knowledge and palette. For all my self-sommaliered training I also have a vast and explanding waistline.....

...Bring forward the Weightwatchers answer to my problems - even though I am with Slimming World - at 80kcals per 125ml and at £4.50 per 75cl bottle this 8% alcohol Fruity German Screw top captured my attention.

It's a clean refreshing looking wine, branded with the Weightwatchers label and lovely vineyards on the front. The useful screwcap ensures easy access - which is always a bonus once you've had a few.

and then you open it....ahh the scent the bouquet. It quite simply transports you to the chemical plant it was scraped out of. It's acidic, vinegary and ultimately not even that strong it has a gentle whiff of some artificial fruitiness - possibly the sludge left over from the decent grapes and it simply leaves you with a migraine.

German wines in my opinion are on balance pretty foul. I hate liebfraumilch and rhone valley offerings, so I guess I should have know better. This foul fluid however, is an insult to the nation it was produced in. I'd have been better off with a bottle of lambrini.

It's bad enough being on a diet and cutting down on wine. It's worst still to believe that you CAN have a glass only to waste your points on this battery acid.

My advice - and indeed the action I took was to clean the drain with this disinfectant and to whip straight out to my local Tesco's for the best 3 for £10 deal with the self-belief that I could make em last... and the deep knowledge that I didn't stand a hope :-)

Summary: Stick to the good stuff
