Advantages: Strong
Disadvantages: Leaves a dry taste in your mouth
I do not consider myself to be a cider connoisseur but 'Old Rosie' has to be one of the most under rated ciders about today. I strongly believe it should be on draft and more readily available like 'Strongbow' is. Unfortunately the only places I know this to be available is the Wetherspoons pubs chain and ASDA supermarkets.
Old rosie is a still cider which is very strong (7.3) however tastes no stronger than apple Juice. For this reason it goes down very easily. It is not to sweet as it leaves a dry taste in your mouth ensuring you drink more. It's best drunk chilled and with ice.
'Old Rosie' is a drink that you will want to drink slowly and appreciate and although it is strong, it is nothing like the cider sold at your local costcutter (White Dimond etc)
Working in a bar myself I've noticed 'Old Rosie' is more popular with the older drinker and younger ones tend to stay away for it. I believe the reason for this is because it lacks the marketing campagine of the likes of 'Strongbow' or 'Magners'.
Next time you are at the bar order an 'Old Rosie' instead of a 'Magners' or 'Strongbow' and I think you will be pleasently surprised!
Summary: Will be a nice change from the usual cider available

There is a nice pub in the South Lanes of Brighton called "The Bath Arms" that sells this on tap......deadly!
It looks like you might live / visit there from your photo (although its hard to tell!!!) |
