The picture above is a little dated now as Whittards have updated the choice of hot chocolates available in their gift box and the look, it more luxurious now.
I much prefer the range they have available in this gift box shown here which showcased nine flavours. The new range showcases the following hot chocolates from their extensive range. Available in the new gift box is:
This is a selection on some of their best selling lines and leans more towards the more adventurous.
The Mint is my favourite alongside the caramel, the chilli is quite possibly my least, but at least I can share this with friends and family who do like them.
This is one of the good things about this gift pack is there is something for everybody.
The style of their hot chocolates looked special, warm, rich and inviting, a big step up from their 'sins' range.
All these needs to be made with hot milk and you apply three teaspoons of the powder.
Some are more sweeter than others and others like rocky road might be a little overpowering[ who am I kidding?] however overall this is a great gift to purchase someone [or yourself!]
This is more pricier than the previous and especially for less. This retails at £18.
If you are a hot chocolate fan then I plead with you to head over to WHITTARDS.CO.UK and check out their whole range and the hot chocolate accessories they do, mini marshmallows and chocolate stirrers. Delicious!
This was a Christmas gift one year, at the time I had heard of whittards and had a good impression of them as a brand but hadn't actually sampled any of their products. However, I was a great fan of hot chocolate, particularly Starbucks; I just didn't seem to like the instant hot chocolate from supermarkets that you make at home that much in comparison.
It is a large box with a see through bit so you know what you're getting, and whittards logo. It is called the chocolate sins gift set as each different flavour is personified with a different deadly sin. There are 7 flavours of hot chocolate in the box which are; mint, caramel, luxury (milk chocolate flavour), white, ginger, 70% cocoa (dark chocolate flavour) and atzec chill. I feel like this is a good selection, with some safe flavours everyone will like such as luxury then some less appealing ones. I didn't use all of my flavours, but the rest of the people in my house liked them so it was okay! In addition to this you also get dark and milk chocolate sprinkles with this.
It is very simple how to make this hot chocolate, and instructions are provided on both the big box and the individual box (however a weakness of the product is the way they are all in individual boxes, if they aren't used quickly they could go off). You simply get 4-5 heaped tea spoons of the hot chocolate and stir it into hot milk. I think it is implied you have a cup of hot milk and then stir the powder in, but I find this too messy and would rather just heat the milk up in a pan and then whisk the powder in before pouring into the cup!
The product itself is also really good, I didn't like all of the flavours but that is just my taste; the ones that I did like were lovely. The luxury hot chocolate in particular was just so much better than your normal powder hot chocolate, it just tasted so chocolatey and creamy not at all like the weak substitutes you get! It is on the website currently for £22 but is on promotion this week with £10 off, I'd definitely recommend buying it now; it is a good way of trying all the different Whittards flavours.
This is a perfect gift set for Chocolate lovers or those wanting to sample all of Whittards Hot Chocolate flavours. The set was retailing at £20 but after Christmas and currently is for sale in store and online for only £10.
The set contains a selection of 7 hot chocolates; Mint, Caramel, Luxury, White, Ginger, 70% Cocoa and Chilli. And 2 chocolate sprinkles; Milk and Dark chocolate. Each Hot Chocolate is 150g and each bag of sprinkles is 80g. All are suitable for vegetarians, and all bar 2 suitable for vegans.
To serve, add 4-5 heaped teaspoons to hot milk, mix and finish with chocolate sprinkles. Mix well to avoid lumps, prevent a thick residue on the bottom of the cup and to get the full taste.
I really love this set because I am a huge chocolate fan and found this a nice present for any occasion but it also allowed me to try each flavour without having to buy the full size bags. I also like how it contains chocolate sprinkles too for that extra special treat.
Obviously I prefered some tastes to others with my favourites being Mint, White and 70% pure choc. The quality of all is to the highest standard and the tastes are strong and make nice combination. The sprinkles are a fair size and work best on cream.
This set comes highly recommended, especially for this price!
