Whittards Turkish Apple

I've probably reviewed more types of tea than anyone else here on dooyoo - white tea, black tea, fruit tea, green tea... you name it, I've written about it. However, all of those teas have come in tea-bag form, and this review represents my first excursion into the world of powdered tea. This apple tea is made in the Turkish style, but don't be fooled, most Turks don't drink their tea this way. Turkish tea is traditionally a very strong black tea, apparently the Apple tea is really only popular with tourists and the locals don't drink it. THat being said, the Turkish Apple tea is delicious. It's actually more of a hot juice or other drink than a tea since there are no leaves in the brew. Instead you take several spoonfuls of a sugary, golden looking substance and stir it into boiling water to make your drink. I suspect that in fact this is probably about 98% sugar. If you are a fruit tea sceptic, try this and you will be so surprised. it is full of flavour, really delicious hot or cold. It is easy to make and dissolves quickly leaving no residue. No tea bags, no lines on your cup. Marvellous. Highly recommended change from the other fruit teas when you are caffeined up in the office all day.
