Advantages: Cheap, Taste Good, Sensibly alcoholic.

Disadvantages: Too much can lead to problems.

Nothing wrong with these, infact in recent times these have become more fashionable, and pretty much a staple at discos and parties of young people. I was at a party a couple of weeks ago, an 18th birthday party actually, and I would have to suggest that WKD Blues were the most frequently consumed drink, everyone seemed to have one, both boys and girls. I bought one myself, and so this review is based on my experience a couple of weeks ago.

WKD is presented in a very similiar way to the other alcopops on the shelves in the UK. It comes in a glass bottle, which is always kept refridgerated at places where they are served to drink, although you can buy boxes of 12 of these at Tesco for £10.50 if you are throwing a party yourself. The WKD single bottles at pubs and clubs usually cost somewhere between £1 and £2. WKD is an alcopop, so it's like a panda pop or other fizzy drink, except they also but vodka in it to make you a little bit more merry. I would have to say that after one bottle, I felt absoloutely no effect, and with 1.5 units, they really are not a dangerous drink. Far better that people drink these at parties, than constantly downing shots of absinthe.

After you've had one bottle, you can detect a little bit of warmth at the back of your throat but that's about it. They taste very artificial, almost like blue bubblegum, I wouldn't describe the taste as particularly fruity, but I did like the taste, it was nice. I felt like an unhealthy kid drinking it though because of the taste, it reminded me of extremely artifical candy.

I would say that for a younger audience, these are quite good. Pretty much everyone likes them, there is no unique taste, and even people who don't really like alcoholic drinks a rule don't seem to have a problem with them. I would definately drink WKD again, but like all alcohol, only have a little bit now and again.

Summary: I have only had a single bottle, but my experience was pleasant.

This is only nice when it's ice cold.
