Advantages: Cant taste the alcohol

Disadvantages: full of sugar and cals

I am not a drinker at all and I can't remember the last time I had an alcoholic beverage. For the last three years of my life I have either been pregnant or breastfeeding so it's definately been as long and probably longer than that. The other night I fancied a change from the usual routine of family life and since we couldn't get a baby sitter, my hubby and I opted for a few drinkies instead. I remebered these fondly from my 'clubbing' days and decided to have a bottle or two.

For all of you who may be thinking 'Oh how awful that she had a drink whilst still breastfeeding her child', you'll be pleased to know that I expressed away the following mornings feed so that Elijah didn't experience any of the alcohol.

It comes in a glass bottle and you can clearly see the contents through the glass. It is a shocking blue colour and contains 5% of alcohol in the mixture. It cost me £8 for four bottles at my local Coop which shocked me a little because I remember the days when I could pick up a huge crate of these for a fiver.

The taste of the drink is really fruity but in a weird sort of way. The only other way I can describe it is by saying that it reminds me exactly of the bright , blue ice pops that you can get. I think they are called Mr Freeze.

The drink is very gassy and I found that my tummy started to hurt after a few mouthfuls due to the air that was entering my stomuch. Despite this it went down very easily and I could have just as well have been drinking a fizzy pop because I couldn't taste the alcohol in the liquid at all. This is a great thing for people that hate the taste of alcohol especially vodca which is the beverage that is included in this liquid.

After drinking three bottles of this drink, I didn't feel in the slightest bit tipsy which really shocked me considering I hadn't touch a drop of alcohol in ages. I thought I'd be swinging from the lampshades after one!

I shocked to see that this drink was full of sugar and calories and I did think that I wouldn't bother with them again because I could easily drink lots of them without even thinking about the calorie content as they go down so easily. I think I would rather have a few bars of my favourite chocolate and not feel tipsy to be honest.

This is a really nice drink but I just don't think it's worth sacrificing all of those calories. I wouldn't buy it again but I would recommend it to all you who hate the taste of alcohol as you can't really taste it at all.

Summary: Not for me thank you!

Hey Claribella
Got your message, but my link is broken so can not reply. The SU rate was in error, had rated VU, but must have coasted over the SU and its picked that up instead. Anyway, I have chaged the rating to what I wanted it to be and what it deserves - VU
