Advantages: Easy to drink
Disadvantages: Not a very classy drink
WKD is a bright blue bottled drink made from vodka but is only about 5% making it a popular alcopop. It is fizzy and has a berry sort of flavour to it making it really easy to drink.
I run a bar and we sell these by the bucket full - we have an offer on most evenings where you can buy 3 for £5 and we literally cannot stock the shelves fast enough. Usually at full price in a bar you should expect to pay between £3 and £4. You can buy them in most supermarkets and off licences for a cheaper price though.
They are extremely popular and perhaps that's due to the fact that one they are cheap and two the taste means that you hardly realise how drunk you are getting. Being fizzy they also fill you up quite quickly which must appeal to some people but they're not really for me. It also contains caffeine which i guess helps to keep people's energy levels up when they are out and about although the sugar content must be pretty damaging to their teeth!
Whilst they are popular with teenagers and younger people they are effectively and alcopop and not for the more discerning drinker.
Summary: Great for anyone under 21!
