Advantages: Refreshing and nice tasting when served cold.

Disadvantages: Can become very sickly.

The so called alcopop`s drinks are definitely not aimed at people of my age and I am very much an ale and whisky drinker but recently at my sons BAR B Q, I found myself drinking with a lot of people a fraction of my age and found myself trying some drinks very different from those I am used to.

Most of the drinks I tried I would never try again but one that I actually enjoyed was a drink called WKD Blue, it is a vodka based premixed drink, the flavour of it is a very fruity one and it is a very refreshing drink indeed.

I think if I were to drink too much of it I would find it becoming a bit sickly as it is very sweet but a few ice cold bottles is very enjoyable. You can purchase this in two different sized bottles, the 275ml one I found myself drinking or a larger 750ml bottle.

The price of both sizes of bottles differs so much depending on where you purchase them it is almost impossible to give a price for them but I will say that without being on any kind of offer you can expect a 275ml bottle to cost around a quid.

At the BAR B Q, I tried this on its own and also as part of two different drinks which my son and his friends drink. One way to enjoy it is with a touch of port, they apparently call this a cheeky vimto because it tastes like the soft drink Vimto, this is apparently a well known way to enjoy WKD Blue but a less well known way is the one my son's friends invented.

As Glasgow rangers fan they are known as blue noses so they invented a drink to go with the name, the drink consists of three shots of blue bols and two bottles of WKD blue served in a pint glass and they call it a blue nose bas***d.

These are incredibly sickly but also very potent and I stayed well clear of them even though with a lot of ice they also make a very refreshing drink.

So there you have an old man's opinion on a young person's drink, it is nice but only in small doses and it has to be drank ice cold!

Summary: A nice drink for a change from the usual.
