Advantages: Tastes nice, looks stylish, appealing

Disadvantages: Cost, lot of sugar..coats teeth like coca cola

INTRODUCTION:

WKD (Pronounced Wicked) original vodka blue, is a type of drink called alcopops, the reasons for this is that the drinks resemble fizzy drinks but have a few shots of spirits in them.

TASTE:

I personally like to drink a whole range of drinks, and WKD Blue is one drink i like to drink, it tastes very sweet and could be described as tasting like fizzy bubblegum in a positive way.

PRICE:

Obviously the price can greatly differ depending on where you purchase the beverage, but generally you can purchase a 700ml bottle for about £3, a four pack for £4.20 (275ml bottles), these prices are usually supermarket & Off licence, bars & clubs you should expect to pay more.

PACKAGING:

The 275ml bottles closely ressemble beer bottles such as bud weiser, and have the WKD running down the side, and generally due to the colour of the drink it is quite a visually appealing drink.

Advertising:

The advertising is something i dislike about the product, and the reason for this is that its quite sexist, and leads you to believe that the drink is solely for male drinkers whilst other sources will state otherwise which i will cover later in the review.

ALCOPOPS - FOR MALE OR FEMALE DRINKERS?

There is a controversy surrounding alcopops where the advertising (WKD for instance) is suggesting that the product is for male drinkers, however in society it seems that alcopops are a womens drinks, and that men who drink them are somewhat less masculine.

I believe that as an adult who is able to make decisions for ourselves we should be able to make the decision on what to drink without being critisised or being labeled for it, after all its not affecting anyone else.

I personally do enjoy consuming alcopops however i also like Vodka,Beer,Cider,Whiskey among other drinks

ALCOHOL CONTENT:

700ml bottle = 3.5 Units
275ml bottle = 1.3 Units

So a 275ml bottle in actual fact contains more alcohol than a standard beer.

CONCLUSION

WKD does cost quite a lot for what it is, however it is a great tasting alcopop and i think you should try it at least once.

Summary: overall a good alcoholic beverage (8/10)
