 ... to say this beer is a beauty. One that quenches the deep thirst of the ale fan and leaves room for more to tackle. This being said, I was expecting something with a big more 'oomph' as it were. At 4.2% it is modest strength, plaacing it just a few decimal points above mild level and around the same as your typical hoopy and best bitters. The flavour itself is one hard to summarise. This is a tricky one. Goliath is part of the eber brilliant Wychwood Brewey - perhaps the most innovate brewery to achieve excellent sales. This beer is marketed in an aptly colosall bottle of 660ML. The beer itself, however, is one that leaves a sense of curiousity and half dissapointment. Before I go any further I have to say this beer is a beauty. A mighty thirst requires a suitably impressive reply. That at least, is what I told the Wife when she questioned the necessity of such a large bottle of ale constituting a single drink. Admittedly - I had made the rookie error of placing it in the trolley next to some diddy half-sized bottles of San Miguel (perfect for satisfying guests, and keeping them away from your prize ales!). The resulting differential was obvious, and I had to manoeuvre myself out of a corner and the embarrassment of putting ale back on the shelf (never!), by pointing out the enormous bottles of Bacardi Alcopop she had sneaked underneath the frozen food.
