***ABOUT YAZOO***
Yazoo is a brand of milk-shakes made by Campina and is one of the leading dairy companies in Europe. Yazoo milkshakes are a re-hydrating drink that contains protein and helps to replace vital nutrients such as Calcium. Yazoo is the nation's favourite milkshake and they are the proud sponsor of youth sport. These milk-shakes are great for lunch boxes as they are low in fat and contain no colours or artificial sweeteners, they also contain less than 5% added sugar.
***YAZOO PRODUCTS***
Yazoo milkshakes come in three different flavours which are Chocolate, Strawberry and Banana. These milk-shakes come in different sizes including 200ml bottle which is great for lunch-boxes as they come with a straw. They also come in 500ml and 1L bottles, all are great value for money.
I have included prices below for the different sizes milk-shakes:
* 200ml bottle from Tesco, Sainsbury's and Ocado will cost you £1.64 (this is for a pack of 4 bottles)
* 500ml bottle from Tesco and Asda will cost you 53p.
* 1L bottle from Tesco, Asda and Ocado will cost you 88p and 97p from Sainsbury's.
For some reason the banana flavour seems to be more expensive by a couple of pence.

***PACKAGING***
I am reviewing the chocolate milkshake which comes in a 500g bottle. This comes in a plastic bottle which is ribbed in the centre which I presume is for easy grip when holding the bottle. It has a dark brown plastic wrapper on the bottle which is a chocolatey colour and has Yazoo on the front on the bottle in bold, blue bubble type writing. It has a brown screw lid and a foil top to keep the milk-shake form spilling and to make it last longer. On the back on the pack you will find all the nutritional information and essentials that this milk-shake drink gives you. It also states that the bottle is recyclable.
The sell by date can be found on the neck of the bottle. I bought my milk-shake this week (6th April), and the sell by date isn't until July, so it can be kept for a few months.
***SMELL/TASTE***
When smelling this milk-shake for the first time it smells very chocolatey and milky. The colour of the milk-shake is a medium brown and isn't as dark as the packaging on the bottle. When drinking this for the first time I was pleasantly surprised at how chocolatey and tasty this was. It's a lovely creamy chocolatey taste but isn't sickly. I can't really compare this to other milk-shakes as I haven't had any other chocolate milk-shakes before, apart from the powdered chocolate mix made by nesquik and this is no comparison to that as this is much more tasty and chocolatey.
Although this milk-shake is low in fat it is quite filling and did make me feel quite bloated after drinking this. If you pour this into a glass, you will see the nice thickness to the milk-shake.
You will also find a few bubbles on top of the milk-shake when you pour the last of the milk-shake out. I would recommend putting this milk-shake in the fridge as it tastes nicer chilled. After opening the bottle you can keep this in the fridge and treat it as fresh milk, so it will last for 2-3 days after opening it. You need to keep the bottle upright as well as the lid on the bottle isn't very tight so it can leak.
***OVERALL OPINION***
These are yummy and chocolatey and I think children would really enjoy them. The small sizes are great to fit into lunch-boxes and are handy as they come with their own straws attached to the side of the bottle as well. Another idea would be to maybe put this on weetabix for cereal as well, as this may tempt children to eat cereal for breakfast. This is a great source of calcium and they are low in fat which is an added bonus.
(Review also on ciao)
Summary: Yummy chocolate milk shake which is low in fat and full of calcium.
