Yazoo Chocolate Flavoured Milk is pretty cheap stuff for something this tasty. A 472ml bottle will set you back 52p, and a 1lt bottle is only 87p. That makes this brand name product cheaper than Tesco's own chocolate milk! I wish I'd realised that sooner.

I have to admit that my favourite milkshake style drink is actually Frijj, but sometimes shops and garages don't sell it - instead they have this stuff. I'd imagine that's because this is a long-life milk product so it's easier for them (and us consumers) to store. It only has to be refridgerated after it's been opened.

I like the thin, smooth taste to this chocolate milk. It's got a really rich chocolate taste with a good sugar undertone, without being overly sweet. There's a lightly creamy taste to this, though not as much as with other brands. I find this is much more milk than cream, which I quite like when I'm thirsty.

Calorie wise this is much better (or should that be less worse?) for you than other similar products. There are 70 calories per 100ml along with 1.5g of fat and 9.6g of sugar. So the small 472ml bottle of this contains 330 calories, 7g of fat, and 45g of sugar. So we're okay with the calories and fat really, but that sugar content is pretty brutal!

On the plus side, one bottle contains almost 100% of your recommended daily intake of vitamin B12. The daughter is veggy, so I happen to know that this is an important meat vitamin that we use for energy. Good stuff there then. This is also packed with calcium, making it a naughty treat that at least has a few health benefits.

As long as you're going to work off those sugars, this is a tasty little treat every now and again. It's not as tasty as Frijj is, but it's easier to store, cheaper and slightly better (or less worse) for you.
