Advantages: Delicious taste, reasonable price, good packaging, can be blended with bananas.
Disadvantages: Very tasty and I want to drink it all, then it's a lot of calories!
We have really been pigging out this weekend and on a big shop at Tesco yesterday I decided to pick up 1 litre of this Yazoo Chocolate Milkshake for just 86p.
The bottle is made of plastic with a paper label and a plastic screw top lid so the entire thing can be recycled. The label shows the usual information (calories, company information, barcode etc).
The milkshake itself is a semi-skimmed milk that is flavoured with cocoa powder, vanilla and caramel flavourings as well as miscellaneous other ingredients such as glucose-fructose syrup. It's a lovely thick mixture, chocolate brown in colour and it should be shaken very well before it's drank preferably ice cold from the fridge. The milkshake tastes deliciously chocolatey without being too sickly and it's just thick enough to make a tasty milkshake that is still thirst quenching.
The only downside I found with this product was that when I shook it up lots it meant the last few mouthfuls of the milkshake were just froth which did spoil it a little for me.
Both my fiancé & I got two nice sized servings of this each and it really is great to know that it contains calcium and has no artificial colours or sweeteners.
There is around 70 calories per 100ml and for such a delicious, rich tasting milkshake I don't think this is too bad at all.
This is one of the nicest chocolate milkshakes I've ever tasted from a supermarket and for this reason I am going to rate it 4/5. I was disappointed with the amount of froth at the end and this really spoilt my last couple of mouthfuls of this yummy milkshake.
I have been known to blitz up a couple of bananas with some chocolate milkshake to help get my 5 a day whilst having a tasty treat and this milkshake would be very nice for doing this as the banana would thicken the consistency even more and make it a lovely treat for any child who may not even notice what you've added in!
I think that this is very reasonably priced and although I could make a milkshake myself for a little bit less I don't think it would taste quite as nice or thick as this one does. I am going to purchase it again and my fiancé enjoyed it just as much as I did!
Summary: A delicious tasting chocolate milkshake with semi-skimmed milk.
