Advantages: few
Disadvantages: tastes yuk
I have always been a fan of milk-shake. After many years of trying to find the best type, I came to the conclusion that making your own with Nesquik powder was the best. Here I try out Yazoo, a drink marketed for its low fat and no artificial flavours or colours.
OK, the bottle is 200ml - quite small comparatively to the norm in bottled milk-shake. I am having a strawberry one, so let's see what it tastes like.
Taste-wise, there's a distinct 'sterile' taste to it - very clearly I am tasting some chemicals other than milk and strawberry. It's the taste you find with UHT milk, and it gives it a strangely artificial after-taste. As for the flavouring, it does resemble strawberry, but it's not rich or creamy, but very diluted and plain: not good!
Health-wise, there's an impressive list on the bottle: less than 5% added sugar, low in fat, good for bones etc, but it doesn't give any specifics, which is a bit annoying. However, you can tell it's healthier than, say Frijj, because it tastes it. The problem is, the good side has gone with that too. It contains no creaminess, has an odd odour to it, and isn't that sweet. In fact, it's barely different to a bottle of UHT milk with a quarter of a tea-spoon of Nesquik in it. It seems that, in the race to make it healthy, they've ignored the taste test.
No, all in all, I recommend avoiding this one and sticking with Nesquik!
Summary: don't bother

- 07/06/09 I have started using Crusha for my granddaughters' and they seem to prefer this to Nesquik. |

- 06/06/09 I've got to agree that the strawberry isn't great, although I do like the Vanilla flavoured one. |
