Popular within Poland this beer is starting to make a big splash here, it can also be bought as Zywiec Porter, which is a variation on this lager. Zywiec is a lovely beer brewed in the mountain spring town of Zywiec in Poland, this has a crisp, fresh taste, bubbly but not too powerful, its flavour is its key. History ========= Zywiec (pronounced Zhee-wee-uts) lager is a hugely popular Polish beer that has made it's way into the UK market in recent years. Born in the town of Zywiec believe it or not, it was founded in 1852 by the Habsburg family as that part of Poland was then in Austro-Hungary. Originally owned by Archduke Albert and Karl Ferdinand it was called "Zywiec Archducal Brewery", it remained owned by the Habsburgs until just after World War II when it was nationalised.
