f+rock Yamaha DD-55: ... crap. i tried useing this for a small club gig. crap. bass pedal inconsistent. snare pad is just as bad. must have pin point accuracy for snare. it says "sampled drum" on it. i dont know where they got the samples from, but they all sound like electric drums to me. the main problem is the playability. the pedals dont work as good as they would need to. you cant go 30 seconds without a failure of so...

Fletcher+A.+Byrd Ahead Drumsticks Lars Ulrich
... ve been playing drums for about 20 years, I m 31 now, and have used Ahead sticks off and on since they ve been on the market. I was impressed with the sound and feel, but kept going back to wood sticks. That was until this last year...I ve been having pains in my hands and my right elbow (I play open handed with my right hand normally playing the snare...Billy Cobham/Carter Beauford style) and my hands felt swollen and sore after every gig. It continued no matter what I tried and I was wondering how much longer I could even play gigs at the rate I was with this problem. My grip was always loose yet controlled, so that wasn t a problem. I tried different tunings on ...

wob1001 Drum Kits in general
... started! If you are looking to buy a set of drums to start practising on then you want to keep a few things in mind. If you are serious about learning it is allways worth spending that little bit extra money in order to get a kit that will last you for a while. Sometimes with cheap kits that cost around £150 - £200 you are going to find that not only is the build quality poor but the overall sound will be terrible and may put you off playing! I understand that for people like students or parents investing in a kit for their children money is an issue. To solve this you could look on ebay or a similar site. Here you can pick up a second hand kit for half the nor...

sparksteroid Drums & Percussion in general
... would music be without any drums or percussion? There would be no set out rhythm, no timing and nothing holding the song together. Drums are the backbone of the average song and without them ther is no power, no impact and lead for the rest of the musicians to follow. Despite all the jokes over the years about drummers not really being musicians and all the rest of it (I m sure you ve heard them all!) playing drums and percussion is slightly more difficult and awkward than people assume. As the bass or kick drum is played with the foot a certain knack is required to get this going in time with your arms. It is a tricky technique to perfect and can take months to...
