Vic Firth Drum Set Mutes ... Lisa of The Simpson s posed Bart the question What is the sound of one hand clapping? , he cheekily replied by slapping his same-hand fingers onto his palm. You can compare this analogy with the sound of playing a drum kit fitted with drum mutes – there s still significant sound, albeit less. Despite my tone, don t get me wrong: the function of drum mutes is not entire noise cancellation but the reality is still not to my expectations. As is Lisa s assessment of Bart s response. Considering that the pads are essentially various sized pieces of circular neoprene (rubber), £50 is a pretty hefty price tag on average. Some of this may attribute to the Vic Firth brand... Drum Kits in general ... Mapex V series is an awesome package for an intermediate level drummer. It s genuine basswood shells are by no means cheap or of poor quality, and when combined with the right skins, i.e REMO pinstripe ambassadors, produce a warm, resonating tone that rivals any Pearl Export, Tama Swingstar or Sonor Force. Out of the packet its hardware is functional, durable and looks great. The shalimar cymals are not so great. The pedal is responsive and with fine tuning becomes very quick. The wooden snare has a wide tuning range, from highly sensitive to an ear splitting crack. Standard with REMO UX drumheads, the snare and bass, in particular the bass, produce an unrivalled soun... Pearl Rhythm Traveller ... drumming teacher has one of these wonderful little mini pack away drumkit. The Size is very small but the sound and the fun is as good as my own drum kit here at home. If anyone was thinking of trying to become a drummer then doo (yoo) Because it is great fun and the price isn't too bad.The kit Folds away into 4 cases and a carry bag for the symbols. How it packs away is all of the drums fit inside each other and the drum that stands on the floor ( The Floor Tom ) Is simply attached to the bass drum.It is about a meter and a quarter in width and about 1 and a half up.
